Make 10k and spend 100k, Progress. I made a bet tonight that the debt wouldn't hit 19. Then I remembered we already have two trillion earmarked. Sucka

You prefer the Republicans' economic plan of make 1K and spend 1000K?

Uh...the Republicans broke it, and he pretty much fixed it. Do you not remember 2008?

Then how did Clinton manage to get a budget surplus in his 2nd term?

I read that going back to Reagan only Clinton and Obama have managed to reduce the deficit, and Obama has actually done so at a greater rate than Clinton. He just started in a much bigger hole.

What? Yeah, it's going down a bit, but it's still double the biggest Bush year other than the year he ended his presidency and Obama took over.

Obama Deficits
FY 2013*: $901 billion
FY 2012: $1,089 billion
FY 2011: $1,300 billion
FY 2010: $1,293 billion

Shared Obama/Bush year deficit
FY 2009†: $1,413 billion

Bush Deficits
FY 2008: $459 billion
FY 2007: $161 billion
FY 2006: $248 Billion
FY:2005: $318 Billion
FY 2004: $413 Billion
FY 2003: $377.6 Billion
FY 2002: $157.8 Billion

That it's going down was the point. I think most believe he's been increasing the deficit, but it's not the case. Debt, yes, deficit, no. Even with two wars and a recession, he managed to decrease the deficit at a faster rate than did Clinton. It's worth noting is all I'm saying.

I guess it depends who gets that "shared" Bush/Obama year. I'd say it's on Bush, but I don't know how the numbers all work out there.

Bush's two wars*, off the books, the "Bush tax cuts", and TARP bailout didn't help matters.

*I am 100% for us being in Afganistan, and 0% for Iraq. So, IMO, the figure for the wars is about 50% bigger than it should be.
