You can have your Andre/Hogan match, but they had faced each other prior and would face each other again. Piper would retire again. Savage and Steamboat was good, but they each would have better. However, nothing can ever top the sacred night, where the stars aligned properly and the dreams of millions were achieved. That's right: MULKEY'S WIN!
Ahhh, the memories. If I recall correctly, this win was used as the argument for their inclusion into the Crockett Cup that year (where Mulkeymania ran wild!). I also remember one of the weekly programs (NWA Pro, I think) showing a meeting in Crockett's board room to unveil the seedings for the Crockett Cup... where Jim Cornette threw a tantrum when his Midnight Express were not the #1 seed.
Remember when Roode wore Terry Taylor's black-and-red robe and was interviewing old-school managers? He was gonna be huge. And then he wasn't. Suicide is an odd resurrection. I thought they had done away with him when Homicide left.
