Has anyone heard or read anything about the plot for Ep3 as far as Anni physically becoming
Darth. Since, in Ep2, he said he wants to be able to defeat death, I'm thinking he'll probably be
near death and be revived as a cyborg-type (like Robocop). That would follow the OB1 comment of
"more man than machine". Don't forget, Darth was like 6'8" and talked like James E. Jones. Also,
what is the evil emperor, if he's not a Jedi? What is the deal in Ep1 about if there's one Sith(sp?)
there's always another, I don't remember any Siths(sp?) in Ep2. And finally, if Anni/Darth is/was the
most powerful Jedi, and Luke beats him, is Luke the all-timer (although I guess Yoda is, right)?
I've been kinda on a Star Wars bug since I saw the new one. I heard so much how it sucked that I
was pleasantly surprised that I liked it (the fact that it was my birthday and me and my wife actually
got a babysitter may have helped my mood).

Many of these questions were answered repeatedly in another thread. I'll be brief here.

SPOILERS AWAY

After Anakin turns, he fights Obi-Wan and loses, getting knocked into an active volcano. What is left of his badly burned body is put into the armor.

A Sith lord.

Darth Tyranus/Count Dooku. When you become a Sith Lord, you take on the title "Darth."

No. Luke *didn't* beat him because Luke was, for a short time, consumed by the Dark Side. Anakin Skywalker saw the error of his ways and went back to the light side. Luke simply showed him there was good left in him.

Count Dooku is a Sith. If I am right, the ones on the "Dark Side" of the force are Sith.

Thanks for the info, Papercuts. Sorry about making you insane and all but it's my first day in this section of the board and I never did claim to be all that bright anyhow LOL. By the way, can you
or somebody else recommend a link or two for those kinds of spoilers. Thanks again.

Click Here for FIVE PAGES of Episode II discussion on this very board.

There's also StarWars.com which tends to be a pretty good site for info, since it is the official site and everything. :)

I don't think you are going to find a link for the spoilers (bar the earlier thread). All the info is located in bits and pieces in the Star Wars Canon. Try picking up "Splinter in the Minds Eye" by Alan Dean Foster. Then read the orginal movies as opposed to watching them. Then pick up the Zahn trilogy Starting with "Heir to the Empire."

For more dark side info be sure to read the "Dark Empire" comics series. You learn a lot about Palpatine and how the drak side works there.

Thats where to start young padawan.

Dude, I'm a padawan? AWESOME! By the way, to use a wrestling term, I totally marked out when
I saw the 3D visual of the Deathstar floating there and again with the shot of the Imperial destroyers
loaded with stormtroopers. I never thought of Bobbo(sp?) (or Jingo(sp?)) Fett as being so important as
the basis for all stormtroopers. I wonder if Ep7 will have Harrison Ford or Mark Hamill in it as old-guy
characters, like OB1.

and thank God for that. Lucas has already stated there would be no Episode 7. He also said if he ever did Ep-7-9 he would do the Thrawn Trilogy since he loved them so much.

But to make a long story short joe-joe no Epsidoe 7 will ever be made. However Lucas is producing the new Indiana Jones which comes out in 2004.

time if somebody thinks he oughtta be floatin' on par with Anni, Yoda and OB1.

All right dude its time you go to Blockbuster and rent all 4 Star Wars movies. Go watch them, then come back and post questions. Questions like "Who was Qui Gon" will cause Papercut's head to explode- just like that dude in his user picture.

That was Lucas' original plan, but I believe Lucas himself has stated there won't be Ep. 7-9.

Qui-Gon is in Ep. 1. Obi-Wan is his padawan learner. Darth Maul kills him during the lightsaber battle. (How did you miss that? Qui-Gon is all over Ep. 1)

Actually, Luke DID beat him. By conquering Darth Vader physically in their lightsaber duel and beating him down to the point Vader had him at in ESB, Luke had Vader at his mercy. Luckily for Vader, Luke did have mercy and he went far beyond Anakin Skywalker by confronting the Darkside and coming out on top by not being consumed by it.

For a short while, yes, Luke did let his anger get the better of him, but he ultimately conquered that anger and showed Vader mercy.

Anakin may have had more "midichlorians" and all of that stuff, but he was weak and ultimately succumbed to the Emperor's will. Luke, however, conquered the Emporer by not joining him and learning from his father's mistakes. The Emperor was still physically able to destroy Luke when he couldn't do it spiritually. Luke became a master of the "Goodside", but the Darkside was easier and more seductive, which gave the Emperor greater physical use of it.

Vader then made the courageous decision based on Luke's strength and hurled the Emperor into oblivion, using his physical strength, saving his son and the "Goodside" all together.

You know, I must have really missed the boat on this one, but where did Lucas ever say this? I haven't seen any interview or article on George Lucas indicating that he has ever reading the Thrawn trilogy. I know that Lucasfilm officially licensed the trilogy as the followup to 4-6, but that could have just been for profit. From what I've heard, Zahn is a reputable sci-fi writer, so he could get a deal like that without Lucas ever reading a word he wrote.

I'm not calling you a liar or anything, I just want to know if Lucas ever did read the Zahn trilogy.

Okay, I know there have been George Lucas interviews since then, but I own the THX edition of the original trilogy on VHS. Lucas specifically says there WILL be three prequels and he WOULD LIKE to do three sequels (aka Episodes 7-9). I don't know where you guys are getting your information about Lucas not continuing the saga, but according to that interview, he wants to do them.

And yes, questions like "Who is Qui-Gon?" are unworthy of answers. Go watch the damn movies.

Very sorry again, Papercuts. Actually I just watched the enhanced version of the original Trilogy. I failed to watch Ep1 again because of time, and I was extremely dissapointed by it the first time
around. I do own a copy of it, along with box sets of the original trilogy, enhanced and original.

I think, back after Star Wars mania first hit and Star Wars became Episode IV, the accepted belief was that it was a 12 part story (which later became nine and is now six) and there was the whole Journal of the Whills thing that never really came back up and this is about the time that the Obi-Wan/Anakin volcano duel started to creep into being. The reality, though, seems to be that all of it is up in the air until the movie is actually written and comes out and we'll see what early idea stuff actually survives to the end.

In recent weeks, though, George Lucas has said that he doesn't plan on making any more Star Wars movies after Episode III because he has other movie ideas he'd like to get to before he gets too old to make them.

#1 Lucas states in MAXIM Magazine last month he will not do any more Star Wars movies after Episode 3. He said he couldn't do that because he would be "80 years old and still making Star Wars movies." He further went on to state he wanted to do something different.

#2 Lucas did an interview in the Star Wars Insider many moons ago that said he thoroughly enjoyed Timothy Zahn's adaptation of the Star Wars Universe. He also said if he ever did do Episodes 7-9 he would use Zahn's trilogy as the base for said movies.

And from what I understand he approves everything that falls into the Star Wars canon that includes the Star Wars expanded universe. So if Lucas doesn't like it, it won't get made.

also on the Eps 1 dvd, he says that this is a 6 part story. he's almost revising history because i am pretty sure he said that it was 6 parts from the start...i'll have to go back and listen to the commentary again...

SO, TO SUMMARIZE: [spoils ahoy!]

Obi-Wan Kenobi & Qui-Gon Jinn were Jedi (Obi-Wan the apprentice, Qui-Gon the master). They were sent to Naboo to stop the EVIL Trade Federation (being controlled by the EVIL Darth Sidious) from taking over. They failed, but got Queen Amidala off the planet and to Tatooine to regroup and repair their ship. There, they met Anakin Skywalker, a punk-ass kid who could be The Chosen One. So, they just take him with them after he helps them get their ship repaired. After bitching to the Senate about the invasion, the group goes back to Naboo and joins up with the local tribe (Gungans) and defeat the Trade Federation droids when their ship is destroyed by the Naboo starfighters. Unfortunately, in the midst of the battle, the EVIL Sith Lord Darth Maul kills Qui-Gon, but then is killed by Obi-Wan. Obi-Wan takes Anakin as his apprentice, even though he's too old, and time passes.

TEN YEARS LATER

Now, Anakin's the apprentice (at 19), and Obi-Wan's a Jedi Master (at around 30-ish). A group of Seperatists try to have Amidala killed, so she and Anakin go into hiding while Obi-Wan tracks down the assailants. He discovers a clone army ready for the Republic, even though they didn't "officially" order one. Meanwhile, Anakin & Amidala fall in love. Aww... Then, Obi-Wan's captured by the Seperatists, so Anakin & Amidala go to save him. They fail, get captured, but then EVERYONE gets bailed out by the Jedi. But then the droids of the Seperatists whoop the Jedi, so THEY'RE SAVED by the Clone Army [who're now the Republic's after Chancellor Palpatine was given emergency powers]. Obi-Wan & Anakin chase down the Seperatist leader, Count Dooku, who beats down Obi-Wan, cuts off Anakin's arm, then gets his ass beat down by Yoda. Dooku runs off to Coruscant, where he's revealed as DARTH TYRANUS, apprentice of Darth Sidious (who's supposedly in control of the Senate). Anakin & Amidala get married as... The Clone War has begun...

EPISODE III: Anakin & Obi-Wan fight in the Clone Wars. Amidala is pregnant, and gives birth to twins Luke & Leia before she's killed by Count Dooku. Anakin is told this by Chancellor Palpatine, who encourages Anakin to take his vengeance. Anakin kills Dooku, turns to the Dark Side and helps the Chancellor become the Emperor, instituting his New Order. Obi-Wan, trying to pry Anakin back from the Dark Side, confronts him, but ends up fighting and beating the hell out of him. Anakin's given a special suit, becomes Darth Vader and begins to hunt down the Jedi. Luke & Leia are hidden. Yoda & Obi-Wan go into hiding, as well. C-3P0 & R2-D2 have their memories wiped.
