Do you think they've made enough changes to warrant the major build number changing 3 separate times, or do they think that having a big number makes it seem like they're making progress? Or is this just an excuse to get more cakes from Microsoft?
They decided on this insane release cycle/version update that's baffling pretty much everyone. Minor updates, instead of being a subset of a main release, will get their own release number if they fall within the release cycle. Yeah, I don't get it either.
Holy crap. I'm still on 3. I had installed 4 at one point, wasn't happy with the changes (I'm a total "I like it the way I know it" guy) and hit the System Restore. I had no idea they'd gone beyond 4! Maybe it's time to suck it up and upgrade, but I'm not sure to what!
The HD in my brother's laptop crashed (or so we thought). I did a little research on the model in question, bought him a different model of HD and restored his laptop. No problems there. Now...his old HD doesn't appear to be truly dead.
