I've used for about 20 minutes, and thus far, I like it. The built in spell check for forms is REALLY handy, and the cosmetic changes are also nice - I like the close tabs "X" on each tab, rather than over on the right.
I do agree that there the differences aren't THAT drastic, but nothing appears to be breaking. And YouTube is down right now, so I can't try it out there. But the other extensions are working fine.

I've found that many of my extensions and most of my themes do not work. But they usually update these pretty quick after a new release. I've also been playing around with IE 7. It seems that IE 7 uses a lot less memory. I'll probably use both for a while and see which one I end up liking better.
Haven't really noticed any differences. I guess since IE 7 copied the tabbed browsing and the extensions, Firefox 2 copied the close box for each tab. The only extension not working for me is FasterFox.
Keeping track of your recently closed tabs is nice, though.

Opera is like that with the tabs. I had an ad-free copy that StaggerLee (I think) posted a link to about a year ago. I lost that in a HD crash and now that I'm using FF instead of IE, I'm VERY happy that they are copying Opera's tabbed browsing.

It seems like every cosmetic/useful feature update that I've heard about I already have covered with the previous version of Firefox + extensions. Are there any other reasons to upgrade?

I also have a question: Can I/How can I get a new tab to open to my home page instead of just a blank page?
You're not the only one. On the FireFox forum, I found this thread where someone asks the same thing. Hopefully, someone there might have an answer if we can't figure out how to do it.

Yes, yes you can. There's an extension, that does it. https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/777/ its called "New Tab Homepage" I just installed it and it works fine with 2.0
So what you do is you type in about:config in the bar, you find the browser.tabs.loadOnNewTab, and you change it to 1 if you want your homepage to open in a new tab. Then I think you have close and reopen Firefox for it to work. I'm going to try it right now.
EDIT: I guess that doesn't work. Oh, well, Merc beat me to an answer anyway.

I tried that but I am being told by Firefox that it isn't compatible with 2.0. Weird.
I got an email from those guys also. They wanted me for a moderator job...then a quick Googlin' later shows how scammy they are and I dropped them from my considerations.
