Finally, I never have to listen to Jean-Paul Levesque wrongly and smugly brag again about how that personal god of mine in my avatar has never beaten him in a one-on-one matchup. Not only was the pinfall at the right speed, but it was about as pristine a finish as one can get these days.

Of course, this should have happened at Wrestlemania, but I'll take it.

I am now praying hourly that Vince has the common sense to drag out Hogan's pops for another few months by giving Jericho back the belt he should not have lost next week.

So I take it Jericho is feuding with Hogan on Smackdown and won a non-title match-up? I say have Jericho fight Undertaker in a cross-brand match and have the winner take on Hogan at the next PPV.

Actually, DMC, it's even better than that... as a result of actually beating Mr. HHH, Jericho gets an actual title shot at Hogan on next week's SD.

I'm scared, of course, that the Fed might use this to further humiliate Jericho, but to me, this smells like Vince wanted HHH to job it back to Jericho at the PPV and HHH refused ala Shawn Michaels, instead offering up Hogan to serve as a go-between.

Either that, or I'm reading too much into it (which I probably am).

Even when HHH sucks (which he has since the return), his haters is still cookoo for cocoapuffs. I don't remember HHH ever mentioning Jericho's never having beaten him (although I may have zoned out), much less Paul Levesque mentioning the fact in some non-kayfabe way that would entail the use of his (not actual, he's not really French) real name, much less him doing it over and over again in a way that would drive anyone nuts from having to hear it "again".

I have this weird image in my mind of HHH coming to these people's houses stroking a white cat and bragging about how he's eventually going to drive everyone but himself out of the promotion and rename it the World Knee Federation or something.

If CRZ transcribes it, they said it. Night after Royal Rumble...

"Isn't it funny, Chris Jericho, that after all you've accomplished, after all your great deeds, that I am the only one out here applauding you? I guess you can't blame anybody, I mean, after the load of crap you stand out here and dish out, how can you blame people? 'I have beaten everybody that there is to beat, I have defeated all the WWF superstars...' That's a lie, isn't it, Chris Jericho - it's a blatant lie, because the fact is, you have not beaten everyone. The fact is, there is one man that you have NEVER defeated. And the fact is, Chris Jericho, that one man...is me."

Mind you, this is almost TWO F**KING YEARS after Jericho cleanly pinned Triple H for the titles on a Raw. Just because Hebner counted fast or the belt was returned doesn't mean it didn't happen. And thankfully, I will never have to listen to Jean-Paul Levesque utter those words ever again.

(My use of Mr. HHH's real name is not because of this specifically, but my lingering hatred for him as a politician because of the way Jericho got treated and disrespected during the Wrestlemania feud. If anybody wants to suggest even more insulting nicknames for the guy, I'm all ears.)

Though again, and I was probably just misreading your original post, I was under the impression that you were saying he does this all the time and its driving you nuts as opposed to he did it once and you just have a really long memory for these types of little stupidities.

And yeah, the fact that the decision was reversed kind of does mean Jericho hadn't beaten him. It's pretty cut and dry, really If he had said "you've never pinned me", you might have a point, but probably not.

Oh, and so as not to postt twice: Your theory about them wanting HHH to job to Jericho so they decided to use Hogan as a place holder - Yes, you are probably reading too much into it.

I think in all honesty, Jericho's going to be Hogan's feud for whatever the PPV after Judgement Day is. Or at least that's their plan at this point, barring all the stuff that usually seems to get in the way of the WWF planning more than an hour in advance these days.

Alright, once and for all: CHRIS JERICHO DID NOT PIN TRIPLE H IN APRIL 2000. What we had there, my friends was a Dusty Finish. The only difference between this and any other one is the reversal of the decision took about 15 minutes longer than normal.

Yikes. While I'm as big a Jericho fan as many others... T.K., I've gotta say you are *way* reaching here.

HHH's little speech after the RR was *completely* in character, and served the exact purpose it needed to do. HHH was the dominating face coming back from a devastating injury with huge fan support behind him, who had just won the Royal Rumble to win a title shot against someone who *had never beaten him officially*. Almost doesn't mean squat when you're counting title reigns, or else we'd have waaaay more than 66 WWF champions on the record books.

And if Hogan's being used as a transitional champion? It ain't because HHH didn't want to be pinned by Jericho. If that were the case he wouldn't have laid down for him *without* the belt. It's because Hogan's getting huge crowd reactions that may or may not last, and they want to strike while the iron's hot. A fluke title reign by an older, near-retirement superstar, ended relatively quickly to keep the belt in the main storylines.

Nothing wrong with marking out for your favorite character and all, but I think it may be time to ease back to... say, a seven.

...and... just as a purely personal opinion? The whole "using the real name" thing is kind of played. I see that and I get flashbacks of Eric S. and Shannon, and that's waaaay too bitter to be getting about guys jumping around in little pants. (:

All I can think of when Texas Kelly mentioned "that personal god of mine in my avatar" was that weird Al Snow gimmick Avatar.

I'm still impressed by the Jericho/Hunter Last Man Standing match from some time ago. They'd be good candidates for a Hell in the Cell match.

If anything wasn't the transitional champ? I mean despite some of its lameness, Jericho held the title for nearly 4 months. HHH barely held it over one. Just some food for thought, HHH's fourth and fifth title reign were the exact same length.

Not only did HHH make these statements in character, but, the exact same thing was said to him leading up to X-7. HHH (the heel like Jericho) is in the ring bragging that he has beaten everyone, and Undertaker (the face like HHH here) comes out and says everyone but me. They then fight. Saying you've never beat me is a good way to advance an angle. And HHH still hasn't beaten that damn Mark Calloway.

The difference: UT was actually speaking the truth. Mr. Levesque was not. That's why it bothered me so much.

I thought if a referee reverses the decision, it negates any previous decision rendered. Jericho did not beat HHH back in April 2000 because Hebner reversed the decision. Had Jericho's win counted, Jericho would've been listed as a WWF champion at that time, albeit for 15 minutes. As far as the record books are concerned, Jericho's first win over HHH is forthcoming.

Crikey,
Really, all this "Haven't been beaten blahdy blahdy blahdy" is for Character purposes and plot "advancement" (as much as WWF advances anything these days). Hey, Levesque pinned Mean Mark Callous on TBS back in, what, 89, 90? It was HHH's first match for nWa, I think....
Though I could be wrong...

Also, didn't HHH beat Taker at some other show when they were both feuding to become the #1 contender?
I believe we recently went through this in another thread.
It doesn't matter though..

The whole idea is that this will lead to a 4-way imo.
HHH wants Taker AND his belt. Jericho wants HHH and the belt, Taker wants HHH, Hogan and the belt. Hogan wants to hang on for dear life...

Btw..(stirring the pot here) is HHH in the dog house? First he loses the title then he jobs to a mid-carder like Jericho?! Maybe he didn't rub Stephanie the right way? No matter what it does show that the WWF watches what goes on and doesn't only do what they and HHH want.
It was obvious his title/superface run wasn't working so they put a bit of evilness in his character now.

Their paths couldn't have crossed in WCW. HHH wasn't there till '94, and by that time Calloway was well into his Undertaker days.

About Jericho/HHH:

When Triple H was spouting his bullshit about how Jericho has never beaten him, I kept shouting at Y2J to play the footage of the overturned title victory. Wham! Makes Triple H look like an asshole.

Of course, we couldn't possibly make Triple H look like an asshole, 'cuz he's a face, right?

Even without that, what about Benoit and Jericho defeating Austin and Triple H for the tag-team title? Yes, Triple H did not get pinned, but his team lost. That counts as a loss to Jericho in my book.

About Hogan/Jericho:

I'm almost certain this match was put together to make Jericho look weak. If anyone here seriously thinks Jericho is going to win this match, you need to stop cracking smoke, if you know what I mean. Don't get me wrong... I'm all for Jericho beating Hogan for the title. But I don't think it's very bloody likely.

About the rumored 4-way match at Judgment Day:

...A little early to predict who's going to win. But I think I can predict whose shoulders are getting pinned to the mat.

Damn it all.

“If there's anything I hate, it's a loud-mouthed Canadian with blonde hair who dresses like a rock star... except you, you're cool.”

Eke..ofcourse Jericho won't win and that has NOTHING to do with anybody keeping him down or wanting him to look weak.
Hogan shouldn't loose the belt on SD jus like that.
And yes Jericho will lose the match, and probably after both Taker and HHH show up in some capacity. Slowly buidling to a four way which will not see Jericho getting pinned..
Because quite frankly, I have no idea who will win at the PPV if the 4way takes place.

Jericho SHOULD job to Hogan, for the fact that Hulkamania has to maintain heat for the moment. And beating that 'whining ass that claims to be bigger than the biggest name in wrestling ever' is a good way of doing that.
Remember, you do not have to be booked to win to get over..

Jericho will bump like crazy for Hogan and if he is a smart guy he will work his checkered ass off.
Because the only way to prove that he is worthy of being up in the main event status is deliver good matches, even with stiffs like Hogan.

Yet in the end, it will be a screwjob and he can maitain his big loud mouth, and the same for Hogan..
At least this beats a feud where he is off screen getting pristine myst.

My question to Triple H would be: "Are you going to drop the title any time in the next year, and if so, for longer than a month?" My question to Mr. McMahon would be: "Is there a faction from WCW you will *NOT* renew and then kill off?...
