I know nothing about what's going on, but I guess Germany out and Mexico squeaking by is a big deal?

I mean Mexico literally only needed to not implode to qualify, but then they went and lost 0-3. Germany wins a game against South Korea 9.5 out of 10 times (though not if they play like they did yesterday), but lost instead.

It continues a trend of defending champions failing to get beyond the group stages in the last several world cups, where Brazil in 2006 are the only defending champs since 1998 to get to the knockouts of the following world cup.
