Basically, this "celebrity shock sculptor" is set to unveil a bust of Fidel Castro's head on his deathbed in Central Park, NY. It is said that the city of Harlem is supporting the project; which will see the sculpture in the vicinity of the statues of American liberators such as Simon Bolivar and Jose Marti.
Supposedly the people of Harlem celebrate Fidel Castro as a champion of civil rights (wtf?) because 30-something years ago he met with Malcolm X.
This is in stark contrast to the community here in Miami, where the large Cuban population sees Castro as an oppressor, a tyrant... or simply a murderer.
SO it comes down to an outrage on behalf of the Cubans here in Miami, urging the city of New York to ban the piece from Central Park; labeling it an "insult to the Cuban people".
This guy who is allegedly carrying on the wishes of the people of Harlem in commemorating what he sees as... someone who actually should be commemorated in NYC I guess.
He was interviewed for a local radio station earlier today, when he was told by the interviewer that Castro was a murderer and a tyrant the sculptor replied,
"Maybe to you"

Actually, in this case, all I'm referring to is the sensational nature of the Moon-Mars program itself, not the US as a country. As for the US, I have a lot of family there and spend an awful lot of time there. I actually like the US very much.
