But who would be the villan? Assuming Sephiroth is gone...and I REALLY hope Aeris wouldn't be brought back either. *Is a long time Aeris hater*
It should be interesting to see how the story goes if the rumor is true...
Jericho:"And I think after the match, you should come back to my dressing room and get what you REALLY want...an injection of Vitamin.....C." Me:Forget about Trish, you can inject me ANYDAY! Your ego has just been *CRUSHED*Courtesy of The Renegade
I'm not AS excited for this one as I am for X-2, but I'd be really interested to see where they go with the story. Considering how it ended and everything...
But, what I'm REALLY interested in is to see what graphic/gameplay overhaul they might give it. That'd be fun...
Since everyone else is doing it (ok, not EVERYONE, but...)
Vikings (2-7) - I don't know. I didn't see it. Just saw that we lost. Badgers (6-5) - Slipping into mediocrity six weeks in a row. Buffy 7.Uhh Whatever this last one was earns a 7.00000314159 because the begining was terrible, but the meat of the episode was hillarious. But filler. Just like most of Season One...Is this some kind of whacky time warp?
Goddamnit, why can't they just do a Final Fantasy VI-2. VI (or 3 here in the US) is easily my favorite RPG of all time and I'd love to see what they'd do with a sequel...
I'm up there with the FFVI sequel, but I agree that this has potential to reek of awesomness. Square hasn't let us down with a crappy Final Fantasy yet. I think a prequel tp FFVII would be an excellent idea as well.
On a side note:
It's fairly safe to assume that if this sequel is made, it will not feature Cloud in hot pants with a pair of pistols.
Is this just going over my head?

In FFX-2, Yuna has ditched her Priestly attire for a pair of hot pants and pistols ala Lara Croft. Well, maybe it has a more western flair...don't have a pic at the moment.
Anways, I gots mixed reactions to this. One one side, FFVII is one of my favorite FF "worlds." But even though the story has kind of an ambigious ending, it gets the point across that everything ended happily after ever. Not to mention topping Sephiroth would be a challange all it's own. Personally I'd be happy with a remake with better graphics.
I second Final Fantasy 3-2 though, for some reason I think it would come off better.
EDIT: Wait! Just figured out how FFVII-2 could be totally awsome. Base it entirely on the TURKS! That would rule!

Oh yes, we must get a sequel to FF6 if there's going to be any sequels. Greatest FF EVAH.

Well, if they're gonna make a sequel to VI, I hope it'll be like Squaresoft's SGI Demo

You never played VIII, did you? :)
Or IX? :)
I will defend IX to the death!
I, too, shall smite at those who shalt ruin the honor of FF9! But, should FF9 come to blows with Cloud and...acquiantances, I shall jump, such as the incredible jumping....jumper.
Why do I watch? Because every episode has the potential to be the best one ever, and I'll be DAMNED if I'm gonna miss that one after sitting through this shit.
If you are going to sequelfy one of the FF's, I think IV (2) is the obvious choice. Kane is on a journey for redemption while the other games seemed to end with everyone content (or dead).

Word. I have always thought it would rule to find out what Kane does after removing the helmet and staring off the mountain...you just know he was going on some major cool exploits.
This is a good idea. Instead of making more and more FF games with unique characters, give us awesome sequels with the continuing lives of those we are familiar with.
Plus, I want to use FU-SO-YA again. That guy was bad-ass.

Redemption against HHH for Katie?
Honestly though, I've been meaning to pick this one up and play it, along with VI. Right now, I'm about 2/3 of the way through V, which I think is fairly cool. They're both on my to do list along with beating FFX again, finally finishing Gauntlet Dark Legacy, playing more of GTA:VC, beating NCAA '03 with the lamest team I can, playing through another season with Madden, and finally finishing Onimusha and Resident Evil: Code Veronica X. But FF IV, V, and VI are all on my computer which gives them the advantage, as I'm on my computer most of the time anyway. That To Do list is going to be alot less structured in two days when I pick up Smackdown and everything else drops off the list for a while.

If you think V is fairly cool, you will think IV and VI are AWESOME. Especially VI. Unless you like V only for the class system, in which case you will hate them.
A shark on whiskey is mighty risky, a shark on beer is a beer engineer.
I subscribe to the theory that everyone survived the end of FFVII, and I'm glad that there isn't much debate about that here unlike other boards.
Hmm, the villain question, I'm not sure about that either... I think I'll replay FFVII the next chance I get and start looking for loose ends.
Things I would like to see: areas from FFVII with some subtle changes to show the passage of time or the effects of Meteor/Holy/Lifestream, perhaps a similar world map (likely with ruins where Midgar used to be), as many references and nods to FFVII as possible, a couple new playable characters (maybe to replace one or two characters from the old game), but most of the original cast should be left intact (but maybe scattered around the planet for the player to find; for instance, Yuffie may have returned to Wutai, Barret to Corel, Tifa and Cloud to wherever, etc), maybe take into account the passage of time and have a couple characters shown as good friends from the last game (Red XII and Vincent always seemed similar but never interacted much), all of them should look a little different (new clothes or haircuts or whatever), at least one Limit Break from the old game per character for nostalgia, maybe make Reeves playable instead of Cait Sith, and the Turks MUST be in somewhere, MUST!
Things I don't want to see: Aeris (keep her limited to flashbacks at the most), radically changed gameplay styles (such as how Square turned Parasite Eve 2 into a crappy Resident Evil clone; don't fix what ain't broke). That's really about it, I think.

FF IV is dying for a sequel, all the stuff you learned at the end, plus there was no limits or anything, so you can still theoretically fight the same types of enemies, since you aren't gods. I will always have a soft spot for FF IV, I got it for Xmas with Super Mario World, ActRaiser, and a SNES, that Xmas break, all my friends and I did when it was to cold around was to play FF IV with our jaws down. Even being 8 I knew it was the shit.
