As someone who's obsessed with history, I'd only be cool with a new park for the Red Sox as long as the following two conditions are met:

-- New Fenway is an exact replica of Old Fenway complete with Green Monster save for better seating
-- Old Fenway stays in use until 2012 (its centennial)

Then again, since I'm a Yankee fan, my opinion probably doesn't count for much in the eyes of you Bostonians anyway.

I'm surprised this didn't already get a mention here. Yesterday, Tony Gwynn Jr collected his first big league hit, a double. 24 years ago to the day, his father collected HIS first hit, also a double. from ESPN.com's game story: Tony Gwynn Jr.
- Sec19Row53, July 19 - Gwynn's first hit (2006)
