Feely, any thoughts on the new Avril Lavigne album? I thought it was surprisingly good (excluding the first two tracks, which seemed tacked on). The tracks Our Lady Peace frontman Raine Maida produced seemed the best of the bunch. Biggest complaint about the album is that there's only so many different ways to package whiny teenangst songs, so Lavigne'd better gain some life experience and start producing Michelle Branchesque awesomeness or she'll fade into obscurity just like...every other generic femrocker of the last while.

It's interesting that you put Jay-Z on this list. I actually like the song alot, but it isn't exactly "Rock" now is it?
Either way, good choice.
Oh, and Take Me Out is such a great song.
Joe Wilson (looking at Interocitor manual)- Hey, here's something my wife could use in the house... Crow T. Robot- A man? Joe Wilson- An interocitor incorporating an electron sorter. Cal Meechum- Oh, she'd probably gain 20 pounds while it did all the work for her. Tom Servo- Cal, you bitch!
Haven't heard the Avril Lavigne album outside of that awful awful first single, but the next single, "My Happy Ending", was co-written to by Butch Walker, so it'll probably have a killer hook. He co-wrote "Right Now" by SR-71, "Give Up The Grudge" by gob, "Girl All The Bad Guys Want" by Bowling For Soup, and...a lot of other guilty pleasures I probably can't remember. And of course all the Marvelous 3 and solo stuff. And "99 Problems" got issued to rock radio a while ago, but didn't do nearly as well as "Hey Ya" or anything Eminem does.
Godspeed is amazing, and is the single best live show on the planet, bar none. If you dig GYBE, check out their many side projects, particularly the different incarnations of A Silver Mt. Zion.
