I love that Jet song for some reason.

au contraire, the new version is much more amazing and captivating. They started doing it at their live shows and by popular demand, they re-recorded it for the single release. I love the new orchestral arrangement, David Campbell did an excellent job of conducting that.
The addition of the full band at the end gives it that much more of a big "rock ballad" feeling. Don't get me wrong, the original was beautiful too (the demo version even more), but the new version just grabs you that much harder. Although I expected that some people may not like it as much as the original "Fallen" version. Yes, it may take away abit from Amy's haunting yet beautiful vocals but at the same time it showcases the 3 other members of the band who always seem to be left out by others. Some people just think this version just kicks more ass, myself included.
The video for the song is beautifully shot as well, filmed while the band was in Barcelona. And eerily ironic considering the recent departure of Ben Moody (Ben is alone playing on the piano in one room as the other band members perform in a separate room and constantly wandering on his own in the video)
Different strokes for different folks, I suppose. Just wanted to toss in 2 cents from the opposite side of the spectrum.

Maybe because it RAWKS in that cool 1970s way?
Excellent choice on #1 there, Feely. That's their best song since, well, maybe ever. Certainly since "Automatic...", and the none-too-subtle jabs at the Bush administration seal the deal.
EDIT: Both #1s, actually, as that Limp Bizkit song is the biggest disgrace I've ever heard. It's bad enough that fucking douchebag had to ruin a classic for another "poor wounded Fred" song, but I still couldn't prepare myself for this pile of garbage.
When I first heard it, I thought "Well, it could be worse. It's somewhat faithful to the original version. The vocals suck, but what else do you expect out of Durst? At least he's not trying to rap it.". I was worried that he was going to get all "hardcore" on us when we got to the "when my fist clenches, crack it open" part - but they didn't even include that part. They just started spelling "limp" over and over again. That's a perfect word to describe that cover.
