Then I see it's the #1 song on the Xmas chart in the UK and now it's getting US radio play. The question is...did I miss something? Is it common practice to dig up obscure covers from cult film soundtracks years after they have been released?

"Orton's facials were perfect, I must say." (Ringmistress) You could almost give Simple Plan naming rights for the Bottom 10 list. But "Ocean Avenue" don't belong on the bottom 10. It's their one good song.

Okay, it's their least awful song. Agreed?

Nah, DD's been out here for quite a few years. Apparently, though, Terry Wogan, the breakfast DJ for Radio 2 (Imagine a radio station for people who think VH1 is 'too hip' for their liking), must have only seen the film 6 months ago and started playing it. Of course, all the Terry lovin' old dears start asking for it to be played constantly, it gets a lot of attention, inevitably leading to The Darkness losing their rightful place as the Xmas No. 1. Terry did something similar for Eva Cassidy over here to ridiculous levels, to the point that she made the Top 10 in the Radio 2 "Voices of The Millenium" Poll in 2000, a mere 9 months after the coffin dodgers first heard of her.
...full of energy. Multi-orgasmic, if you will, in a cosmic sort of way."
