Well, he did say if he's truly dead. Which as it turns out is not the case. I was pissed when they 'killed' him but if it was to get to this, I'm all for it.
And Jerichoholic you're right. Apparently Brubaker wanted to have it happen in the Gulag story until they decided to use it as a ploy for Fear Itself. Rogers would've returned to being Cap anyways, but it would've been in his own book first.
If it happened in Gulag, it would have been better, because it would not just be a foot note to a much larger story. I always had the feeling that when Bru was done with Bucky, he would be killed off again. Clearly he is not done with him, which is col. Fear Itself still sucked.
