I have gone a bit Widget happy after upgrading to Tiger, and I was wondering what Widgets everyone seems to actually be using. I'm just afraid there are cool Widgets out there I don't know about.

I'm using:
Doppler Radar
5 day forcast
Scoreboard V 1.2 - Baseball Scores
Gmail unread message indicator
Word of the Day
Ask Dave
Foxtrot comic

...oh bother.

Geez, I'm afraid to open up the Dashboard because it looks like it every running widget ends up permanently taking up RAM I'd rather use for something else. It's rumoured that there'll be a Widget Manager in the 10.4.2 update (, which they probably should have had from the git go. I've installed this Widget Manager ( in the meantime, but it looks like I'll be zapping THAT when the update is released.

Without my laptop in front of me, the only widget I can think you/everyone need(s) is, obviously, the MineSweeper one. ;-)

Every USB-to-Serial dongle I've ever used has worked fine. I think they're all terribly overpriced (I've never seen one cheaper than CDN$20) but it's sort of a captive market: you either need one or you don't know what it is.
