Randy Savage has had many looks over the year, my personal favorite look being the colorful cowboy outfits he wore from 1991 threw WCW Halloween Havoc 1996. I thought they were coolest outfits ever when I started watching wrestling in late 1991. I don't think anyone spent more money on wrestling outfits than Randy Savage, maybe ever.

Now to turn the tables, which look of Savage was your favorite?

That 70's Jimmie Hendrix garb he wore early in his WWF career?
Macho Man with the cape and bandana in the late 80's?
Macho King with the crown?
Colorful cowboy outfits?
His NWO look with the hair all frizzed out?
His modernized look with Gorgeous George in 1999?
His current look with the MASSIVE beard?

Nothing, NOTHING, can top the late 80s look. Ya gotta have the cape, big sunglasses and the reddish/pinkish trunks with the three stars on them. It was all down hill once he lost the WWF championship at Wrestlemania V. I guess this is my biased since I started watching wrestling in '87, and Savage was my favorite for a long time (even during those horrendous early to mid 90s cowboy days). Once he started wearing those shirts that matched his tights I gave up caring about his outfits. I guess he did have a couple other good outfits here and there. I remember his Wrestlemania VII outfit in his "retirement" match against the Warrior being kinda snazzy.

Good topic! When you think about it Savage has to have the craziest arays of outfits ever in wrestling. I'd love to see a picture timeline of all his looks.

I'm into excessive and neon clothing, which is why I liked the funky colorful cowboy look most of all, but I can understand why it would it be a major turnoff to some, they were the gaudiest most outlandish outfits a wrestler could possibly own.

I posted this at the wrestlingclassics board as well, and unsurprisingly, most of them picked your favorite look, particularly naming Wrestlemania 3. I can see that, basic yet stylish, but not too over the top.

Yeah, the reason why you need the cape is because the spin/point thing that he would do when entering the ring looked so freakin' cool with his glittery cape on.

I've liked Macho Man a lot more as of recent.

I loved his look in Spidy.

But the crazy part is, I think I like him better as a voice than the physical person. His work in "Piledriver" (Space Ghost Coast to Coast) and as "Rasslor" in a episode of Dexter's Lab was genius.

But if I had to pick, I would say when he wore the big glasses and the neon Cowboy hat.

OOHHHHHH YEAH! BONESAW'S READY!

http://4dw.net/wwfhogan/magazines/machoman.jpg I'd have to cast my vote for the Macho King era. This man is still my favorite wrestler of all time.

I'll tell you what I'm gonna do! I'll put one hand on your forehead and the other hand on the back of your head! Then I'm gonna twist it one turn for each letter of the alphabet! And when I get to the letter of my true love's name (that would be the lovely Elizabeth) I'm gonna pop your head off like a cork and roll it down the pike like a bowling ball! Oooh yeah!!!

I think that's how some of his Dexter's Lab speech went. I fell off the couch laughing when I heard it.

Definitely when he first joined WCW, with the yellow knock-off T-shirt and red cowboy hat (which later was marketed brilliantly by WCW as a foam cowboy hat).. oh wait, favorite? I thought you said `cheesiest' Macho Man look. Sorry. My bad.

am i the only one who loved the "madness" era savage? i mean, i grew up watching the other incarnations, but for some reason, i loved old man randy savage with a bunch of randomly dressed hot chicks acting insane. it was just completely random and wonderful. though, i wonder how much is my love of the character as opposed to the love of the clothes..

LOL! After consulting my SGC2C Library (Thank you Kazaa), turns out that line is from Space Ghost when he played "Leonard Ghostal" as he threatened "Blip" (Zorak).

But on topic, I loved the cowboy looked, especially the neon tassels on the sleeves of everything he wore. It kinda lokked good (in that 80's kind of way) when he would put his arms out to the side and do that spin aound move (somewhat like Angle's twirl).

Maybe that's why Macho will always be better than The Dingbat Warrior. Superior number of tassels...

p.s. Did I use enough parentheses(?)

The Macho Man is my favorite wrestler of all time. I keep hoping for the day when he makes his triumphant return to the WWE, just for a last run. No one was ever as intense as he was. Plus he was involved in the greatest Wrestlemania moment of all time (which if you want to find out, check out my column) http://wienerboard.com/thread.php/id=10197

Anyway, his best look...that's what this thread is all about. I've got to say the early look with sequined cape/robe, headband, and sunglasses. I agree with Eradicator that no one looked as good as Macho when he spun with the cape/robe.

Incidentally, I think he had the greatest shirt of all time, too. It was the purple shirt with the sunglasses on it and underneat it just simply said Macho Man. In the reflection of the sunglasses was a picture of Savage. That shirt made purple badass.

I didn't even recognize him in the Spiderman movie, until I heard his voice...

The random neon tights look, but WITHOUT the shirt. You KNEW he was pissed off when he didn't have the shirt on.

And may I add that his Summerslam 91 wedding outfit kicked six kinds of ass. Only Savage can get away with taping his hands for his wedding. ;)

Knowing the circumstances, I don't think Mr. Rogers threatening a laundromat attendant with a gun is appropriate anymore. So you get this instead.

Was VKM legitimately having problems opening those things up or were they going with having like a half dozen of them with Reigns name in it and not sealed?
