Monthly pay-per-views and rushed angles seem to be the norm nowadays and it all takes root in the Monday Nite wars, it seems. Quick matches and quick feuds characterize 21st century booking in US. Many feuds have taken place in WCW, ECW, NWA and WWF/E since January of 2000.
I am posing this question. Since January of 2000, what have been your favorite feuds?
Some of my favorites include:
*Cactus Jack-Triple H (January-February 2000) *Misfits in Action-Team Canada (Summer 2000) *Brock Lesnar-Kurt Angle (Late 2002-April 2003) *Rob Van Dam-Brock Lesnar (Summer 2002) *Triple H-Shawn Michaels (Summer 2002) *Undertaker-Jeff Hardy (Summer 2002, peaked with the Raw ladder match) *Hogan-Rock (Spring 2002) *Scott Steiner-Booker T (Spring 2001) *Scott Steiner-Diamond Dallas Page (Spring 2001) *Vince Russo-Ric Flair (although it did humiliate Flair ) *Triple H & Austin-Benoit & Jericho (May-June 2001) *Edge-Kurt Angle (2002) *Ric Flair-Triple H (eventhough it lasted only about a week) *Dusty & Dustin Rhodes-Ric Flair & Jeff Jarrett (Spring 2001)
I also liked that Rock-Kurt Angle feud but I can't remember when exaclty it occurred.
I should also list Alliance-WWF of 2001. That was a surefire angle but it bombed because the WCW/ECW guys jobbed virtually every match except for RVD, Rhyno, Dudleys and Austin. It did entertain me though.

Austin-Angle...from 2000-2001 Angle-Benoit Edge-Christian(Late 2001)...build up was long time coming Triple H/Austin-Hardy's (short...but served its purpose...i think more time for Matt woulda helped) Rock-Austin--(on again off again) Jericho-Triple H also worked well at times Brock-Big Show...lasted long and had different motivations...kinda overhyped though Booker T-Rock...the only real "Dream" match realized during initial "invasion"....maybe only a daydream but still...
**sorry for getting off topic but these just popped up**
on the other hand I thought the next few werent too good
Triple H-Steiner...just didnt mesh well Undertaker-DDP...No decisive BIG STAGE singles match Lawler-Tazz....fun at times...but only helped Tazz as an announcer Tazz-Austin....killed Tazz's whole "Make Austin Tap in a New York Minute" Routine
and of course Alliance Vs. WWF...at least it led to some good feuds
Well, there have been many, lets narrow it down by a simple criteria.
1. Any which have lasted longer than two weeks.
Good thing, as I only have five fingers available to count on.
Jericho/HBK- a good, not great build over three months...but it did have a great payoff
Jarrett/Raven- never saw a whole lot of it, but it sure got hyped on the net.
Angle/HHH- You remember, when Steph was supposed to go to Angle, but the burgeoning political scene put an end to that. Still, it did give us a few great months of TV. Though it was a turning point in WWF history.
Cactus Jack/HHH- Hey Foley tried!
Whipwreck&Tajiri/The FBI- Not much of a story, but some innovative matches, that I never got bored with, basically ECW's swan song.
+HHH-Angle: Such a hot feud, such a bad blowoff. +Rock-Austin: In all four of its incarnations this was a classic pairing. +Jericho-Chyna: The man was so entertaining and Chyna so vile that the fans cheered Y2J out of sheer necessity. I loved that feud because it showed the world how awesome Jericho was to put together decent matches with that He-She. +Jericho-Rock-Two of the three best promos (Austin the third. Angle doesn't make the list because his face promos are dull as dishwater. Those three can go both ways.). Great matches too. Unfortunately Triple H countered all Y2J's progress. +Austin-Angle: So bizarre, like a mirror universe feud. I almost serious when I say that that whole 6 month Alliance period seems like a bad acid trip. Great matches though. +Hardyz-Dudleyz-E&C: 3 great teams, and countless showstopping matches. +Brock-Big Show: Surprisingly decent.

Looking from a nostalgic point of view, my favorite feud will always be Hogan/Savage. Watching the Mega Powers explode was a fond childhood memory for me and having Miss Elizabeth caught in the middle made the feud that much more intense. And the blowoff at Wrestlemania V was incredible.
Ah...the days of a young mark...
What is Mattitude?
Utilizing the belief system and work ethic (Mattributes) of THE Matt Hardy to create a better life for yourself by fulfilling your goals and dreams. Mattitude is a quality that can help anyone -- regardless of background or past -- to achieve success. You just have to make it a lifestyle, a mindset, a religion. Mattitude, is something that can not be taught or learned. Mattitude is something that burns within. In the ring, Mattitude is the intangible, the x-factor, that gives me an advantage over everyone else.
Dusty vs Four Horsemen Tully Vs Magnum TA JYD vs Ted Dibiase Rock n Roll Express vs Midnight Express (still the best Tag fued EVER) Tommy Rich vs Buzz Sawyer Freebirds Vs Von Erichs
Since Jan. 2000 (hope I remember the dates correctly): Angle/Benoit (chock full fof rasslin goodness) Rock/Benoit (Benoit was ROBBED ... TWICE) Brock/RVD (remember when Brock used the multiple ribbreakers and powerbombs) Edge/Angle (a great blowoff match when Angle was to lose his hair and then ran away for the rest of the PPV) Jericho/Rock (Jericho's first world title) Shane O'Mac/Angle (two great showmen) ECW-WCW/WWF (the Atlanta RAW to start it ... goosebumps)
Old school: Magnum TA/Nikita Koloff (forget The Day After or Red Dawn; this is the Cold War story for me)
"To be the man, you gotta beat demands." -- The Lovely Mrs. Tracker
Austin v Hart Foundation: I was such a Bret mark in these days that, to this day, I have never fully supported Austin.
Old School Hogan v Savage: Same deal as above. I liked Savage so much that I've never fully forgiven Hogan for taking his title.
Jericho v HHH: This would be when Jericho "won" the title from Hunter. I was just so happy to see Jericho playing with the main eventers and getting what I thought would be a big push. Still, some of my favorite moments as a Jericho fan is from this feud.
Jericho v Rock: From the initial World title match through Rumble 2002, these two just clicked so well in every way. You can tell they have a good chemistry in real life. Plus, you have to love that kick ass promo from Jericho right before the Rumble.
E & C v Hardyz v Dudleyz: From the very beginning... Just cool matches with great chemistry. Plus, I love how the teams basically did a triple switch over the course of the feud in terms of face and heeldom.

With the reaction that got, I'd bet anything it's on the backburner and we'll see it again on a grander stage. Hmmm, HHH-Flair at Wrestlemania XX? In Flair's last match? (I bet HHH'd even put him over, too.)

OlFuzzyBastard, it won't happen. It makes too much sense to the WWE .

I can't speak for American fans, but that feud transcended wrestling up here. Fans treated it like more than an angle. It sparked a real surge of Canadian nationalism amongst people (at least, people I knew) who beforehand couldn't care less about their country. Of course our government has managed to kill that spirit even in me, but it really was something to see at the time.
After that I'd rank Bret vs. Owen #2 or, as the original question asked (since 2000) Angle vs. Benoit from 2001 at #3.
If I remember right, the Foley/HHH feud lasted basically from Mid-to-late 1997 (the Dude Love/Cactus Jack feud with DX), through Foley's surgery & rehab, his return before SummerSlam 1999, his title win at SummerSlam 1999 and subsequent dropping of title to HHH, and THEN the Cactus last run. They had history, that's what made the feud work.
My favorite feud, all told, is Bret Hart vs. Owen Hart.

At least it's nice to know that whenever someone gets fired from WWE forever, they can come back. We just need a board of directors meeting and a fake petition, because, you know, the WWE listens to the fans...
