That is a spell used during matches. Glass ceiling holder allows a person to gain exp. while holding other down and keep their level regardless of lych attack or commonly known as Russo booking.

The way the Divas are being booked,to be the champ you have to be the worst wrestler on the show. Another round of put the belt on someone to get them over???
They must not have had the SD divas there at all because surely there was time for a Womens Championship match or angle of some sort since it seems they ran a little short. Not that any thought or effort would have been put into it or anything.

Swagger's record on TV as world champion: 5-11

wins over Morrison (twice), Edge/Jericho, Orton, MVP
clean losses to Orton, Morrison, Undertaker, Kofi, Rey (three times)
DQ losses to Kane, Show, Orton
lost one tag match where McIntyre did the job

Pretty good job there.

I'm happy that Sheamus won the title, it stops the constant bouncing between Orton/Edge/Cena etc. Now I do hope they give him a decent title run to actually sway people's opinions of him not being a main-eventer. I'm also wondering if they start making him a tweener with the NxT guys being the villains.

I'm wondering if Rey's win is going to lock him in a feud with Kane, (Rey heel turn anyone?) or if Kane is going to play with the SES due to the "throw Punk into the casket" stunt he pulled. Which if that happens, might set up some more Swagger/Mysterio matches.

I would think that Kane is going to be feuding with Punk now. They started that with Kane being involved in the shaving of Punk's head back at Over The Limit and followed it with Punk cheating to beat Kane in a Fatal 4 Way qualifying match on the following Smackdown. Of course, that was the same night that The Undertaker was injured so it likely changed whatever storyline they were planning on going with for a Punk vs Kane feud but with Kane removing Punk from the PPV in a casket, it seems likely that they're going to continue that storyline now.

Kane/Punk and Rey/Swagger would seem like logical one month placeholders for MITB to get to Rey/Punk and whatever happens with Undertaker and Kane for SummerSlam.

Well, this pretty much answered my question about how long it'd take WWE to drop the word "Heavyweight" from the World Heavyweight Title now that Mysterio's champion again:

Eh, oh, well. As long as they make Rey out to be a more legitimate champion than he was during his first reign, everything'll be cool. (They can hardly bury him any worse than they did the first time he held the belt-- right?

For such a throwaway ppv it was pretty good.
All of the matches entertained me & the friends I watched with.
The divas match was funny when they all went for submissions. Good to see Gail whipping out that one move that nobody could break (and yay, it still wasn't being broken)

It was a pleasant surprise to see Rey win. Didn't see that coming at all. The NXT attack was good, I expected the match to be thrown out but there was a winner. Cool.

And the fact that the ppv ends with a "Daniel Bryan" chant was just great.

    Eh, oh, well.
This means nothing. It's a style choice by a writer. Hell, the fact that they said "Heavyweight" at least once kinda invalidates your theory.

Also, this thing next to Rey's photo on the SmackDown Superstars page (wwe.com):

I suppose, Chris, but the word "Heavyweight" was used only to refer to the previous champion, Jack Swagger. And given the fact they didn't refer to Rey as "World Heavyweight Champion" during his first reign (or at least, not for the entire thing), it's a reasonable assumption. Guess we'll find out Friday!

I gotta agree. I think it's a language / structure issue rather than a subliminal message. It's the same sentence, so if they used the full title name, the word heavyweight would be used twice, making the sentence, erm heavy.

I'm surprised the didn't drop the second world for the same reason just referring to Rey as Champion as WHC had already been established as a sentence subject and it's clear what they are subsequently referring to.

Let's all just collectively hope that Rey gets a better go as champ this time round.

This comes across to me as if you feel dropping 'Heavyweight' somehow diminishes the credibility of Rey as Champion. Am I wrong in that interpretation? I ask because it doesn't bother me so I'm just curious if you feel that way and, if so, why?

The other title was only ever referred to in canon as the WWE Championship and, of course, before, the WWF Championship (or title or belt). Though I'm sure it was often included in promos/commentary and whatnot, I don't remember them ever stressing "heavyweight" with that one and I think most longtime fans would consider it more prestigious than the one Rey's carrying (inasmuch as people care about credibility where wrestling belts are concerned).

In any event, count me in as surprised with everyone else Rey won it at all. Great to see. He deserves it. I thought the opener was bad booking as far as Kofi was concerned. He was out for like eleven years while Teddy got yelled at, dressed in the ref's shirt, halted the three, waited for Hardy to come out...just totally wonky. Good match, tho. Too much goofy sports-entertainment in the other title matches for my blood, gotta say. Miz actually entertained me with his promo/rap, but it kind of conditioned the crowd to not like Truth, which set the tone for a snoozer. One of many Miz has had on PPVs as a single, like the forgettable MVP bouts. That's probably why he was put in tags, and it's surely a hump he needs to get over before he is elevated any further. Oh and Jericho's match was MOTN. But will any other top guy sell for and put over Bourne like that? Doubt it.
