The number on the right is the total number of posts. The number on the left is which of those posts it is.
Example:
Say there's a new user named "Johanse" who hadn't yet posted, and he first replies to this message, then posts for a second time anywhere.
The post here would be listed 1/2, because it's the first post of the two he's made. The other post would be 2/2.
