Felt really bored by a lot of tonight's episode, but the ending with Stewie burning down a liquor store for Brian was pretty heartwarming by this show's standards.
You KNOW this episode is a misstep when they try and stretch out a manatee joke into a full plot, as was the case with the Hispanic maid. As a one-off joke it's fine, but too much is too much.
Can't even think of a manatee joke that worked particularly well tonight. I call it a thumbs down from my end.
EDIT: Ok, I thought the Peter/PETA stuff was good for a laugh (especially with Stewie's "Are we really doing this?" quip) and the complete randomness of the ending gag.

As did my wife. She actually left the room for a while.

And, maybe I'm just being overly sensitive because my wife and I recently had a baby, but I don't think I can enjoy watching Stewie anymore now that he has (casually) admitted to murdering seven babies.

Occasionally though, they have a "joke" that crosses a personal taste line for me. Stewie saying he killed babies was one. The Shatner drowning his wife line from last season is another example.
The show can be funny without going there, so I just wonder why they feel the need to, that's all.

See, the problem I have with this is that you seem to have a problem with Stewie being a 'baby killer'. Do you really have a problem with that or him being a killer period? Because that is a big part of his personality throughout the series. Off the top of my head, I remember him killing (and the show actually showing it) the cult leader or the 'man in white' on his birthday, Fred Rogers, his daycare teacher, his babysitter's boyfriend, and Lois (though it was a simulation). He's an evil person a good chunk of the time who likes to off people. If you have a problem with that part of his personality, you have a problem him and the show in general.
Now, if it's only the 'baby' part that bothers you, I would point out that he only said it and in a kind of 'off the cuff' manner. Doesn't mean he actually did do it. Which means, IMO, it shouldn't offend you as much as it does when he is shown actually killing adults, which he often does. Peter curses out Lois and tells her to 'shut her trap' all the time, doesn't mean he's really abusive to her or believes she's a bitch.
Considering all the jokes in bad taste that have been said, this one is very, very tame by FG's standards. I really don't see where you have a legitamite argument against this bit. Now the episode itself, I can see if you didn't like it, because I sure didn't. It wasn't horrible, but outside of the feline AIDS part, I really didn't find much of it to be really funny. To each it's own, I guess.
