I'll have to say that tonight's episode of Family Guy may have been my favorite one of the entire new season. So many great pop culture references, all topped by the "Take On Me" bit with Chris at the milk cooler at the supermarket. I had to pause the DVR to catch my breath.

Take On Me is a song by A-ha. One of the most popular pop/rock songs from the 80's. The music video for it was done in the same animation style as that segment, and the whole thing was an awesome parody of the video.
HBK: You’re flat broke aren’t you? MJ: Please let me wrestle on RAW! HBK: Fine, but I ain’t wearin’ no fruity tassels. MJ: Are these your mirror pants? HBK: Give me those!
Don't forget about the bit from "The Neverending Story." I thought the kidnapper bit in the supermarket was hilarious. Brian not being able to stand in the back of the moving truck was subtly brilliant and Asian Trix was awesome.
Some news - next week's episode is the last new one, I believe, until the season premiere on 9/11. They will have aired 10 of the batch of 13 first-run eps, with the remaining three being the Stewie movie split up into 3 parts. The movie is direct-to-DVD, and will be released on 9/27. So, it would make sense that they air the 3 parts on 9/11, 9/18 & 9/25 just in time for the chock-full-of-unrated-extras DVD release on the 27th.
American Dad is already in reruns until 9/11, but the Pilot is scheduled to air this coming Sunday, 7/24. The Simpsons will also be premiering on 9/11 - FOX is getting the jump on baseball this year.
Not Meg, NOT MEG!! was awesome, but A-Ha's "Take On Me" was hysterical capped off by Chris pushing out through the eggs and Lois asking where he was and he replies "I don't know, I DON'T KNOW!!" I laughed for a good two minutes after that.
The kidnapper thing ran a little long for me but it was funny nonetheless.
Loved Asian Trix rabbit. Real funny.
And Greg Louganis was so on the mark. That is exactly what I was thinking when he name was mentioned. Hysterical.
This season started off a little weak (for Family Guy standards), but it is really clicking now. I can't wait to see the Stewie movie episodes.
You can do it Otto! You can do it Otto!
Make this spare, I'll give you free gelato!
Then back to my place where I will get you blotto!

Now see, someone explain that "NOT MEG!" part ... Was it because Meg is the least-loved child in the family, or is it because she's the fattest (I'd think Chris would have that distinction)?

No, that's pretty much it. They've actually taken to introducing some of the random stuff, I'm assuming so that people will know when to laugh. I cannot count* how many times a random cutaway was heralded by the phrase "Yeah (cast member) that's even (worse/stranger/dumber) than the time (cast member) tried (easy laugh situation).
(*I've since deleted the episode)
The kid is all confused and thinks to himself "I'm not calling anyone mommy because the last time I did that, it led to this." -My Wife on adoption
Well geez, it's not like they weren't doing the EXACT same thing the first time around, though - I'm pretty sure people noticed this even back then (and made the same observation/complaints).

Well, I honestly have to say your opinion of the show won't QUITE carry as much weight with me now that you've admitted that.
A good chunk of a given 22-minute episode is taken up by peripheral stuff: flashbacks, what's on TV, retro pop culture references, (really good) song, the occasional marathon fight between Peter and the Chicken Man and other miscellaneous stuff. Some folks might call it filler. Those folks might be right, but those are the things most everybody talks about the next day, anyway.
I was just able to watch the show today. I thought the best parts both involved Quagmire, first with the "Who Else But Quagmire?" bit and second with him going crazy while Lois mentioned trying to fill the hole in her life.
Really, though, the whole show was great, with the aformentioned "Take on Me" and Asian Trix bits.
The answer to WWE's financial problems...
Never 'Wiener of the Day', and is actually quite bitter about it.
You are underestimating the popularity of Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. It is the highlight of the cartoon network and has been heavily promoted in BK Happy Meal bundles. Coco is the breakout star.
