Ah, what wit. Here's the story.

At this point I have to think Jose's Hall chances have gone from slim to none.

it would seem to me that jose would be better off on a bad team in the a.l. to get his 500 home runs.

He would have gotten VERY little playing time in the outfield in Montreal, and playing everyday in AAA Ottawa wouldn't be too appealing to him.

Q: If you could have interviewed Marvin Gaye, where would you have proposed to meet and what would you have asked him?

A: I would have met anywhere as long as it was before his father shot him. I would have asked him, "Hey, don't you think there's some chance that your father might shoot you? To death, I mean?"

I dunno... I still have the opinion that he can add some nice pop to the lineup. But i dont know how he plays in the field. Is he that slow or that bad? Anybody know from watching him?. I've only seen him on highlight reels plus if i recall he's only played the field like 13 games out of 3 yrs.

Jose actually looked quite good for the Sox last year...I would take a crack on him if I were an AL team with a DH hole

Umm, Jose hit like .200 in spring training - I doubt it was that tough, tough NL pitching.

I'm PRETTY sure you can do better for a DH.

One thing that struck me in that article...I REALLY don't remember him ever being on the NY Yankees.

I believe the Yankees picked him up for the 2000 season to fill out their bench, then the White Sox picked him up last year sometime after the start of the season ( i dont remember the exact date).

Not so much that they're comfortable with is as it is that they don't have a lot of options. Too many injuries and such.
