I heard two other similar stories. One I just read last week and it was on a Kyocera phone (I can't seem to find the link to the article at this time), and another was also a Nokia phone and the cause of that was also a cheap imitation battery.
I've owned about 4 or 5 different cellphones in the past...oh, 3 or 4 years almost. All of them have been Nokias. It's a reliable brand. I doubt you have too much to worry about.
There's also a club called the Fine Line in Minneapolis, which apparently caught fire on Monday when the band lit off their firework display. Nobody killed, but the club was destroyed to the tune of $1.5 million.
