I was just wondering is anyone else had the chance to read this book?

I bought it last weekend and could not put it down. I thought it was very inciteful and heavily detailed in areas of Matt and Jeff's personal and professional lives. So informative that there were details that I don't think I wanted to know about them, but still a good read.

There were a few quotes and anecdotes that I wanted to comment on, but alas, I'm a work and the book is at home. I'll post again when I get home.

On a side note, work is the major key in my absence from Wienerville, for the most part. I had to leave the cult that is called 'The Home Depot'... Trust me, that store is hell on earth and a front for modern day slavery.

Anywhoo... Any read the Hardyz Bio?

Haven't read it ... Have been waiting for recommendations one way or the other. Anticipating the additional details once you get home ...

This work thing is really having a negative impact on us. Unfortunately that's what pays for the PPVs. Damn nuisance, if you ask me.

Okay, I'm FINALLY home now...

What I found about the book was that it was definately a page turner and I pretty much read the book in pieces throughout, a few chapters here or there. Then I finally broke down and read it from cover to cover, which means I read it about 3 times. But it wasn't so hard to do. The book is very candid and honest and I actually gained more respect for them after reading the book.

A few of the stories that I liked:

- One where Matt Hardy declares himself a giggolo. It's cute, but I couldn't help but feel bad for the girl whose mom paid for his services.

- Matt FINALLY admits that he's in love with Amy Dumas, but the story of their first meeting doesn't paint her in a positive light. It made her seem rather easy, actually.

- I just really got into the stories of how they worked their way up in the indies and got to the WWE. It's so much more in depth and informative than the second hand stories we get online. Then the stories surrounding the BIG MATCHES and their thoughts on them were good.

- Funny story about Matt and Amy catching Stacy Keibler and Test out on a date when they were pretending that they weren't involved.

- Jeff's story about the Ladder match he had with the Undertaker was good because he basically talks about regaining the respect of the guys in the locker room who felt that he wasn't carrying his weight in the business because he needed a break to do his music.

- There are tons of great pics spread throughout the book, even their baby pics. Awww...

- I learned that Matt Hardy can rap?? Huh?? I know, I was shocked too.

- "I'll be honest-- I've experimented with drugs." - Jeff Hardy.... Hmmmmm... *shaking my head*

- The ending just basically trying to tie the book up into a pretty bow and talk about their goals in the future; re-teaming, retiring, yadda yadda yadda...

Overall, I'd recommend it for a lazy Sunday afternoon because I couldn't put the darn thing down. But go to Wal-Mart or K-Mart to buy it because $25.00 is a bit much to pay for it.

Sah-weet! Thanks for the review cuz now I'll actually go get it. I was fairly interested but def on the edge of 'take it or leave it'. I shall take it now.

Trips is to write a work out book of some sort. I do hope there's a lot of pics in there, you know, to show you proper technique whilst lifting? I wouldn't want Boytoy to get hurt as he tries desperately to emulate my obsession. *hopes Boytoy doesn't ever, ever, read this board*

Of course, I would only read the book for its content.

Thanks for the good review, Ticamo. I've skimmed the book in the bookstore, but I will probably wait until it comes out in paperback to buy it. I'm cheap like that. I thought one of the most interesting parts of the book was that it finally explained why Team Xtreme was suspended between Vengeance and the Royal Rumble. The book says it wasn't because of the poorly-received Jeff vs. Matt match at Vengeance. It was because they refused to participate in a story in which Jeff would kiss Lita. Apparently, Jeff had a real problem with kissing his brother's real-life girlfriend.

Completely off topic, I just wanted to say that my very favorite part of this past Monday's Raw was Trish kicking Joe Millionaire's ass. You go, girl.

Ticamo, good review -- I'll grab a copy of it then.

Tomboy, awww, how precious of Boytoy to go to all that trouble! :-) I suspect Trips' book will mostly be pictures. And its ever so important to see all the details of how the muscles work when lifting, so baggy sweats will not be the attire of choice. Yummy.

Stacey, did you have a chance to see Confidential last weekend? They showed the "making of" that commercial -- lots & lots of takes of her kicking Joe Millionaire's ass -- they should have left more of it in.

Interesting read. I enjoyed the book.

BUT.

I didn't finish it with a more favorable impression of the Hardys. As a matter of fact, I like them LESS after reading it.

I guess I wasn't able to put on my mark glasses, and my smarkish side just got irritated with some things. The Invasion, for one. I got the impression that the collective egos of the WWF locker room (Hardys included) were a factor in that angle's failure. No one wanted to give any of the WCW guys a rub after they'd "busted their asses for so long". Because, ya know, guys like Mike Awesome spent all their pre-WWF years doing nothing. Also, the comments on Jerry Lynn. They made him sound like a freak for wanting to actually WORK HARD in matches that weren't "important". It all seemed indicative of the WWE disease. People don't want to put on a good show, they'd rather look good individually.

And when Matt said the Hardys had good workrate... well, that was just hilarious.

Hehehe, I knew I wasn't alone... I just hope he's not sporting the Flair Hair like last night, because I'll be honest, he looks UGLY with it. Yikes, did I just type that?

I hate to say I'd have to agree. I think him and Nash are sharing the same hair dresser...or there lack of. He's slimmed down though, looking too damn good. Damn near flooded the house with all the drool...

I bailed out on the butt sex. I mean, I'm a slash fan and all, but Michael Cole? Ecch. Looks like Vince is trying to offend the mainstream media again.
