I hate to sound morbid, since someone did die as a result, but I loved this story (comcast.net).

In the case of the would-be-robbers, I guess you sometimes don't know what you're getting into ...

So I guess the old saying about bringing a knife to a gun fight doesnt apply.

Glad to hear they arent going to press charges against him.

StaggerLee, StaggerLee.... (tsk, tsk)

EVERYBODY knows that you never bring a gun to a Marine fight. Well, ok, I guess nobody told these kids, but come on. It's basic. They should have known better. What? They didn't KNOW he was a Marine?! Somebody must have removed his warning label! I guess ya just can't tell who to rob these days.

knife < gun < Marine

The story is now at CNN.com along with a 3 minute video interview with the guy ... Seemed very humble & sorry for what he had to do. Definitely worth chacking out.

Here's hoping they find, arrest, charge, and jail the rest of the little bastards involved in this.

Anyone know if they mentioned what kind of knife he was carrying? A pocket knife could be anything from your run-of-the-mill Swiss Army 2" blade to something like...this

I am glad he's not being charged. When worse really did come to worse it's good he had some means to defend himself.

This account (http://www.11alive.com/news/news_article.aspx?storyid=80494), says a box cutter - good thing he hadn't gone through airport security

Last night's South Park was alright. No classic moment, but still OK. Highlights included Alex, and the SARS subplot. Not enough Cartman, though. Also, Norman Lear wasn't listed as consultant, even though he was listed for most of this season.
