| #1 Posted on 30.3.03 0853.09 | Instant Rating: 10.00 | Hey everyone,
Extreme Warfare Revenge Version 3.0 is now available for download! New to this version: Gimmicks (and how they affect your workers), Improved Feuds, Much More Random TV Ratings, and Much Much More! To download the EWR 3.0...
http://www.adamryland.co.uk/ew.html
Just would also like to send a quick thanks to Matt Hocking (aka Excalibur) for his help in previous EWR threads. Especially since I'm foolish enough to forget that you have to register on the EWR board to actually view it. So thanks again Matt for posting those features several weeks back.
New features:
New angles system \ 250+ new angles [accessible via the booking wizard]: The angle book system has been overhauled so that it consists of a two-tier system (type then specific angle) to make booking easier. All angles have been rewritten from scratch, and increased from 75 in EWR 2.0 to over 250 in EWR 3.0.
Ability to form own promotion [accessible via the User screen]: After a certain time, you can now quit your current employer and form your own promotion.
175 wrestler gimmicks: Wrestlers can now be assigned one of many gimmicks, descriptions of which can be found in the Meeting screen by talking to your writers.
1 vs 2 Handicap match [accessible via the booking wizard]: You can now book 2-on-1 handicap matches.
2 vs 3 Handicap match [accessible via the booking wizard]: You can now book 3-on-2 handicap matches.
Finishes to triangle matches [accessible via the booking wizard]: You can now select the type of finish, and have a run in.
Finishes to four-corner matches [accessible via the booking wizard]: You can now select the type of finish, and have a run in.
Run-In finishes for 3 vs 3 matches [accessible via the booking wizard]: You can now book run-in finishes to six man tag matches.
Run-In finishes for 4 vs 4 matches [accessible via the booking wizard]: You can now book run-in finishes to eight man tag matches.
Time limit draw finish [accessible via the booking wizard]: You can now select time limit draw as a finish for a drawn singles or tag team bout.
Separate count out and DQ finishes [accessible via the booking wizard]: You can now select count out or DQ finishes separately.
Fifth web site [accessible via the Internet screen]: You can now go to www.grapplefanatics.net, where six authors have regular columns.
Stable leaders [accessible via the File Editor and Stable screen]: You can now select the leader of each stable, and they will be referred to as such during the commentary.
Stable interviews [accessible via the booking wizard]: Stables can now give interviews.
3 new wrestler fields - American, Fonz Factor, and Menacing [accessible via the File Editor]: Each worker now has three new fields. American indicates their nationality; Fonz Factor is an indication of coolness; and Menacing indicates whether they have an intimidating look.
Belt names up to 30 characters: Belt names have been extended so that names like 'King of the Death Match' can be used.
Event names up to 30 characters: Event names have been extended so that longer names are now usable.
Improved feuds section [accessible via the Feuds screen]: Feuds have now been split into Major and Minor ones, which avoids the need to cram all the feuds onto every major show.
Moving wrestlers up and down the card improved [accessible via the Roster screen]: Sophie now gives warnings about demotions as well as promotions, and the effect on morale has been softened for justifiable changes.
Improved User screen [accessible via the Main screen]: It now shows game data, job history, shortlist, and game world overview.
Rename belts [accessible via the Titles screen]: You can now rename existing titles.
Improved training camp section: It has been changed so that the benefits of having someone in training are greater, but are now limited to one year.
Less rigid contract offers - people accept verbal and written deal easier: Contracts have been altered so that the user \ CPU has more control over what contracts they can offer. This is particularly visible when offering a contract from the Other Worker screen, as their demands can include 'Type: Either' rather than just Written or Verbal.
More variation for TV ratings: TV ratings fluctuate more.
In-Game Guide [accessible via the Game menu]: The official guide is now included as part of the game.
9 new cheating endings [accessible via the commentary text]: There are now nine new pieces of commentary that can occur when you select 'By cheating' as the finish to a match.
Redesigned screens: Many of the screens have been altered to make them more user-friendly.
EWR 2.0 -> EWR 3.0 data converter [accessible via the File Editor]: The data converter has been updated to convert data files from the previous version of EWR to the new one.
Advanced search facility [accessible via Other Workers screen]: You can now refine the search of other wrestlers by using all their attributes, such as Speaks, Menacing, or Announcer.
Specific name search [accessible via Other Workers screen]: You can now search for a specific worker's name, ignoring the current search criteria.
Specific federation search [accessible via Other Workers screen]: You can now search for all workers currently working for a specific promotion, ignoring the current search criteria.
Improved Database Maintenance to remove unemployed workers with contracts [accessible via the File Editor]: Using the Database Maintenance button will now find anyone who is unemployed with a written contract (which caused an error in 2.0) and convert it to a verbal contract.
250+ event name ideas from writers [accessible via the Event screen]: The writers can now give you a list of over 250 ideas for event names in case you are struggling for good ones.
100+ stable name ideas from writers [accessible via the Stables and Tag Teams screens]: The writers can now give you a list of over 100 ideas for team names in case you are struggling for good ones.
Fixed TV slot bug: The bug from previous versions of EWR where you’d be unable to move your show to another time slot because the network erroneously believed they had another show there has now been fixed.
Ability to make difficulty level go up [accessible via the User screen]: You can now raise the difficulty level of the game during play.
Mail to show birthdays [accessible via the News screen]: Sophie will now mail you at the end of each month to tell you who had a birthday this month, and how old they are.
Progress for Loading screens [accessible via the Options screen]: You can now choose to view a message on the Loading screens that tells you how far, percentage-wise, the loading process has gotten. This does not increase one percent at a time, but rather by several percent after each sub-process is complete.
Enjoy the game, guys.

| #3 Posted on 30.3.03 1539.10 | FANTASTIC and on Wrestlemania Sunday Too!
And you're more than welcome for the help...
And I just wanted to mention this:
Every once in a while when I get bored with doing my WWE senarios, I start up my own backyard fed to play as that for a while. Within two weeks of every time I start up my backyard fed, Adam has released a new version of EWR.
I started it back up on Wednesday.
Huh.

| #10 Posted on 2.4.03 1317.35 | I started a new game running Ring of Honor the other day, and it started with April 1, 2003. Then, today, I decided to start a WWE game, and it started with May 1, 2003. Does that game automatically set the start date to be the first of the next month?
And yeah, there is a TON of shit in there...

| #12 Posted on 2.4.03 1633.47 | This is a game that demands some real effort in it! I'm getting myself organized to start up with NWA:TNA, and I find I'm doing ideas for months out into the future. Shame Vince and friends don't seem to be doing that. Maybe they need a copy of this game ;)

| #13 Posted on 2.4.03 1806.17 | That's my problem too. I started my RoH game, and it took HOURS just to get everything in order before advancing to the second day. (I got used to the RoH roster in the last version, and now without Amazing Red, the SAT, and Lo(w)-Ki, among others, there was a gap I needed filled. Luckily, the WWE cut Brian Kendrick within that first week, so Spanky has come home!!!)
I try to keep track of my roster and all tv show slots in an excel spreadsheet, and I keep wondering if there wasn't a way to extract at least the roster information (specifically overness) from the roster.dat file. As it is now, after each event I have to manually adjust my worksheet, but I know there has to be a better way. I may have to learn VB...

Don't worry about it. Trim the fat that you don't want, and then do whatever you want. The trimmed roster suggestion is just that, a suggestion.
I still don't like the fact that the workers don't recognize the roster split (upper card guys' morale drops if they're not on a few shows a week), but other than that I'm having an absolute blast playing it.
