New member to Evolution: Brian Lawler

Grandmaster Sexay would be a great fit into making Evolution seem more credible as a foursome. In TNA he did a great job at producing heat on himself, and had some OK matches also. This could move Flair to manager (something everyone wants to see) and sets up the eventual split with HHH.

I see it going as Lawler comes in, second generation superstar, he has the built in story from birth. Flair takes the manager role, and is always at the side of Orton, Lawler, and Batista; ALA JJ Dillion being at everyone's side, except Ole Anderson in the Horseman. Now Lawler can stay in the group for a while with no friction, but eventually the younger members of the group have to get fed up with being second fiddle to the aging HHH. Simply take on an "associate" not a real member of the group, but one they all (excluding HHH) hang with and stick up for in battles. The new person should be another second or third generation up and comer, but does not have to be one. Eventually the HHH split happens and you have a new Evolution, that is more of a gang, not HHH's merry men.

Orton = Flair
Lawler = Blanchard
New Member = Arn Anderson
Batista = the expendable position ALA Luger, Windham, Roma....etc.

I dont think lawler could fit into that group not near big enough. but I do see hhh leaving mainly because if he is the "leader" and w/o a belt is the way I see it playing out.. IMO

Sorry but I don't like it. First off, right now Orton cannot lead a stable. I just don't see it happening. Second, its called "Evolution". Is it supposed to be like different ages in the stable hence the name "Evolution"? If Lawler comes in, then you have 3 out of 4 guys about the same age in the group. Thats not "Evolution" thats like "Natural Born Thrillers" type group. Plus, sadly without hHh, I think the stable would just disappear like "UNION" did.

Perhaps I'm missing the boat here, but...how does a guy fresh from three year WWA/TNA/indy exile who got squashed in his first match back bring credibility to a stable that would include Ric Flair, Randy Orton, and Batista (aka three guys already higher on the card than Brian Lawler could ever dream of being)?

What makes everyone think that there is going to be a Orton VS HHH split in Evolution? I mean, this has been rumored for HOW long? Sure Maven is gone and all that, but I wouldn't ever really buy him outside of the Tough Enough arena(only Nowinski had a gimmick BEFORE TE, which in my little mind works for kayfabe ).

I'm just trying to steer this thread toward sensible discussion(forget Brian Lawler).

SHOTGUNSHEP-probably the only wiener over 400 posts to have a rating under 3. I didn't know I was THAT bad. I try to convince myself that everyone who has rated me is just jealous. You guys just can't get rid of me.

This is how I see it going with someone like or actually Lawler.

HHH gave the rub to Orton and Batista, now they are upper card guys through association. Add a guy like Lawler into the mix and the same rub happens, he becomes an excepted upper card wrestler (remember TNA, he was a main eventer), this is where the theory grows.

To compare the group to the famed Four Horseman, you had Flair, world champion, main eventer. Then you add Blanchard, an upper card wrestler, but could easily slip into mid card at a drop of a hat. Then you add the aging Ole and very green Arn Anderson to the mix. That was the reality of the Horsemen. One main eventer, and three mid card wrestlers with a great mouth piece manager.

This is the situation with Evolution if they take on a new fourth member. I am not pushing for HHH to be pushed out right away, if he was than the group would die ("like the Union"). HHH needs to build this group for another year, or maybe till WM21. At that time a great HHH tossing would be good and the group could sink or swim on it's own. The reason I like Lawler, he reminds me of Blanchard. He can talk, good wrestler, and has that look like you just want to hit him.

This falls right in line with the other thread, but to paraphrase former Texas senator and 1988 VP Nominee Lloyd Bentsen:

I knew Tully Blanchard.

I watched Tully Blanchard.

Tully Blanchard was a TV friend of mine

And HE, sir...is no Tully Blanchard

The only stable that Brian Lawler should be in is one with Scotty & Rikishi ... and they're on opposite shows ... something tells me there's gonna be a backstage segment with Eugene trying to act all "hip-hop"-ish ...

Agreed. I think Lawler was brought back to fill the void left when Spike Dudley went to Smackdown. He's a guy to trot out when someone needs to get squashed.

Oh, and as for main eventing TNA equalling upper card WWE potential, Lawler was in the main event of one show and lost to Scott Hall. Let's not go overboard here. If there were anything left to get out of him, either WWE would have brought him back a long time ago or TNA would have tried to keep him as a regular. Neither happened.

If they are going to add anyone to Evolution then I think it should be Johnny Nitro. If HHH leaves (setting up a possible feud for with Orton) then to keep Evolution alive I feel a fourth member is needed. Heel stables are a great part of wrestling ( 4 Horsemen, DX and to a lesser extent The Corporation) as they help wrestlers get over. Think what DX did for Triple H and what the Horsemen did for Benoit. For this reason I think they need to keep Evolution alive. Flair could take a manager's role (as someone already said), and I feel that in a few months, after his feud with Mick Foley/Cactus Jack, Orton will be ready to take over the reigns of Evolution. Batista and Nitro could be an interesting addition to the Raw Tag Team division and both could easily challenge for the IC title. IMO, this is how I feel the future of Evolution should be, and it is possibly the best way to get Nitro even more over than he already is.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves w/ Orton. Foley has been carrying this entire feud. When it comes time for Orton to emote, instead of "fear", he's giving us "oof, that bean burrito didn't go down to well". Let's see what Orton can do post-Foley before we start giving him the leadership of Evo, much less feuding him w/ HHH.

Looks like Steven Richards will have someone to feud with on Heat ... and I haven't seen this addressed, but have they now totally distanced Steven and Victoria?

Lawler is not Evolution material. He has decent talking skills and knows what he's doing out there, but to think he could be the "Tully Blanchard" of that group is silly. Maybe if it was a stable in Memphis, and Bill Dundee or something was the group's leader.
Brian Lawler's current spot in the Raw pecking order:

55. Al Snow
56. Tommy Dreamer
57. That guy who does the live event center promos
58. The Hebner referee that isn't Earl or Dave
59. Make up lady
60. Perennial hEat jobber Tyson Dux
61. Steve Austin's beer cooler
62. Those jagged edges on the Highlight Reel set
63. Grandmaster Sexay

He was brought in as a comedy act and that's probably where he'll stay till he leaves again. They probably should have put him SmackDown, but as someone else here pointed out, he fills the Spike Dudley role quite nicely.

I DO believe HHH will eventually be dumped by Orton, etc. -- and it's probably not all that far off, maybe even as soon as SummerSlam. The only person I think who could fill his role in the group right now is probably a heel Shawn Michaels. And even THAT'S stretching things.

But I STRONGLY disagree with Grandmaster F'ing Sexay being part of Evolution...

It's about time that Austin's Beer Cooler get a push further than Tommy Dreamer.

Not anymore. Didn't you read the announcement?

WWE, Austin's Beer Cooler, Part Ways

After months of negotiations, the WWE and Steve Austin's beer cooler have been unable to come to terms on a new contract and as a result have mutually agreed to part company.

Both parties have left the door open to work together again in the future and the WWE wishes Steve's cooler the very best in his future endeavors.

I'm just amazed someone got this excited about Grand-Fucking-Master Sexay. Something's gonna probably happen with Evolution, but not THAT.

Just for the record ..

Benoit got nothing from being a Horseman, like Sid Vicious. He was put back into the mid card role after that version of Horseman was disbanded. It took years for both to get main event status.

Arn Anderson, Lex Lugar and Barry Windham got the biggest boost as Horseman and post Horseman.

Paul Roma and Steve McMichal got big pushes as members of the group, but were flatlined after the were axed.
