Boo-fucking-hoo

I am so sick of hearing Red Sox fans bitch about every move the Yankees make. This type of shit just adds fuel to the fire. Quick, let's all chant "Yankees suck" at every (non-Yankee) game at Fenway this year. And while we're at it, let's buy "Yankees Suck/Jeter Swallows" shirts for our kids outside the park. Yeah, that'll show 'em!

Oh well, as long as we all get to cheer on Thurman Munson Flight School Day, I'm happy (I remember when I was 4 and Munson played land the plane. I cheered then, so this is not a gimmick). Then again, I'm the person who started yelling at Yankee fans at Fenway in August '95 that the Yanks reminded me of Mickey Mantle. Both were dead. Now, the key thing is this was the day that drunk croaked.
Now, back to Contreras. If Boston had signed him, he would have been the second coming of Robinson Checo (as primitive as can be). What the stooges that run the Sox should be pissed about is that they could have gotten a proven winner in Milwood for a bag of baseballs, and they didn't because Theo wanted to be a big boy and go on a trip out of the country.

I want you to know, I agree with everything I've just said.

Lucchino has longed despised the Evil Empire (and that is what it is). In the long run, this is best move for the Sox. Let the Yankees have Contreras. He's probably about 38 years old anyway. Now they can get down to business and swap Fossum for Colon straight up!

Just for that low blow, I hope Clemens signs a 5 year deal with Boston.

For Fossum straight up, they might be able to get Minaya's colon, but not Bartolo Colon (or Bartolo Colon's colon, for that matter.)

Considering I have a 1918 World Champs sweatshirt, that doesn't bother me. Why would I be offended about people chanting the year that we actually won.

They're aren't chanting the year they won. They are chanting the year the drought began.

`1918 was both, remember.

The drought began in 1919. The year you win it is not the drought. The drought is the first year you don't win it.

This town is going to blow up if/when they ever win it again. I went to the Pats parade and that 1.2 million people will look like nothing compared to the amount that will go to government center. The Sox break my heart every year but it sure it a fun.

I read an article in (I think) SI about how a WS win is about the worst thing that could possibly happen to a Sox fan. Probably a two year old article now. Makes sense to me. What else would there be to complain about? You Sox fans are born whiners.

(Of course, this is the opinion of a diehard Yanks fan who grew up outside Worcester and endured many ass kickings for his team preference. But every kick, every shove, every slap to the back of the neck was so worth it in '96. And '98. And '99. And 2000.)

Taking a tip from MoeGates, I find that I am Rex Banner, Ty Pennington, Dr. Scott, Berlin-era Bowie, a Snake Print Doc Marten, Jim Morrison, Butch Coolidge, Robocop, Regis Philbin, an Emotional Drunk, Lincoln, Kermit and Ghetto Fabulous. Of course.

Can you imagine if we ever saw a Cubs/BoSox (or, to a lesser extent, a Philly/ChiSox) World Series? Baseball as we know it might implode.

You know, sometimes one doesn't actually NEED to express EVERY thought in one's head.

I think Minaya is going to find that the asking price for Colon is coming down significantly. While I really don't think they would trade him for Fossum straight up, they won't also be asking teams to take Fernando "The Anchor" Tatis along with Colon.

As much as Colon would be an improvement over Fossum, trading him would leave another hole in the Sox rotation. I'd rather have the rather solid if currently unspectacular Fossum in there than Frank freakin Castillo, or even John Burkett. We might gain Colon, but we'd still have to put another stiff in the rotation, or hamper the bullpen by putting Ramiro in there.
