They won't have that match; don't be silly. We all know it will be Coach and Bischoff against JR and Lawler....

| #24 Posted on 25.8.03 1118.54 | This angle was enough for me to give Summerslam a thumbs up. Just the sheer out of nowhereness of it, and the pure smarminess of Coach was perfect. Playing the 7 year old's game of "I'm not touching you" was priceless. Having Coach go bad reminded me for some reason of the Bill Simmons column where someone talked about how cool it would have been to have Yo-Yo Ma turn on Sting at the Winter Olympics.

| #25 Posted on 25.8.03 1155.55 | This is the kind of "what the fuck?" things WWE need to do more often. After the chair shot, when we saw that it was Coach, we were 5 people screaming at the tv "COACH TURNED HEEL! COACH TURNED HEEL!". And the "I'm not touching you bit" was hilarious.

| #27 Posted on 25.8.03 1252.12 | You can tell WWE thought Coach turning would be a huge thing by looking at their "daily poll" for today:
"Did you ever think that Coach possessed the mean streak that he showed Sunday night at SummerSlam?"
>Yes. I knew he was evil >No. I never imagined it
Yea, Coach has such a HUGE mean streak.

| #28 Posted on 25.8.03 1521.19 | I'm cool with this as long as Coach doesn't ultimately end up with Teddy Long. And I totally agree with CRZ - they should have pulled the trigger on a heel turn like this years ago with the situation between Kevin Kelly & Rocky.

He doesn't prepare worth a damn so work that into his heel persona. Instead of mis-calling a move, he can be all like who cares what the move is called?

I was in vegas for the Tough Enough tapings last year, and Coachman was sitting at the pai gow table for like 20 hours. It was insane. Almost degenerate. Who the hell plays 10$ pai gow hands for 20 hours. True story.
His gambling might have led to his being evil.

Kim bet me a million dollars that the plaque would figure into the finish of the match and I was so sure I didn't take the bet...which is too bad, because I really could have used that million dollars.

| #36 Posted on 26.8.03 0807.03 | Like I said in the "Raw Thoughts" thread, Heel Coach was the highlight of RAW.
From his making fun of the announcers (The Village People) to his entrance, to his commentary during the Christian/Lawler match, he exceeded my expectations.
The only problem is that Austin go the best of him again for the second staright night. Something's got to give.

| #37 Posted on 26.8.03 0901.12 | I thought the turn @ SummerSlam was one of the the funiest things ever. The group of 10 I was watching with was screaming when Coach turned. the one black friend who we were watching with started screaming about how coach turned "angry black man" on us. It was great and the rest of the match was hilarious! Coach just became like 100 x better. He was great on RAW as well. Hopefully a stipulation gets added to the Coach vs Lawler match. I would luv to see Coach cheat to beat the King and take his place. I don't think Lawler is going anywhere though so maybe just go with a 3 man booth. Coach's JR impersonations are great. Go coach GO!

| #40 Posted on 26.8.03 1053.30 | I really liked that they showed the bit from a couple weeks ago where Ross and Lawler gave Coach the boot outta the booth, but I wish they would have also gone back a ways. They should have shown footage of the first time JR came back from one of his many sabaticals (something to do with Austin and Bischoff of course), and Austin gave Coach the Stunner for no reason other than they didn't need him anymore. I remember after that happened people were all "ooohhh, maybe this will lead to something." So yeah, it woulda been nice to show the roots of all this from a few months ago.
And as much as I usually don't like three man announce crews, I too hope they put a stipulation on next week's match that if Coach wins he gets a spot at the table every week ('cause you know they wouldn't get rid of Ross or Lawler unless it's just for a couple weeks). At least it will be something fresh. I don't know where else they can go with all this unless Coach is just to become a new Chief Morley figure, but that doesn't seem like what they are shooting for so far.
