Comcast waits until I'm out of the state to announce it - probably a wise move.

http://www.thekcrachannel.com/sports/3719812/detail.html

Sacramento Kings fans across Northern California got some good news Thursday.

For the first time ever, consumers will be able to watch every game of the season in their own home. Cable giant Comcast has announced a new Central California regional sports network that will run 24 hours a day.

The network will include coverage of every pre-, regular- and post-season Kings game. It's part of a 10-year agreement between the Maloof Sports and Entertainment and Comcast.

"It's all additional games, nobody loses anything in this deal. It's great for everyone," said John Thomas, president of Maloof Sports and Entertainment.

The new network will also carry some Sacramento Monarchs games.

The channel will be available on Comcast's expanded basic lineup.

Another angle: Mark Kriedler ties this deal into the now dead talk of a new stadium (sacbee.com)

Believe me, I know how you feel. I'm pretty pissed off that I won't be able to watch nearly as many Pacers games as I normally do every year when I move to Virginia Beach in a few days.

Nobody enjoys a good time more than I do, but this business of yours is as legitimate as a three-legged donkey-- which of course is illegitimate because as we all know, donkeys have four legs.

NBA Season Pass. If you're the type of person who watched most or all of the team's games, it's probably a worthy expenditure.

Between our local station channel 9 (who has always shown every Lakers away game) & Fox Sports West (who has always shown every Lakers home game), we're covered baby.

Although I'm a Bulls fan, I love this news. I just found out today that this channel will be available on my ancient basic analog cable service, meaning I'll get more basketball games than just the Warriors on FSBA, whatever national games are on, and the occasional Bulls broadcast on WGN.

Well...technically the Warriors ARE our local team in Fresno, even though I don't believe I know one actual Warriors fan. It's about a 95-5 split- Lakers to Kings, and I question that high number of Kings fans around here. I suspect of the 5 per cent, about 90 per cent have been Kings fans for about four/five years.

I hadn't heard this before. All I've heard is: $$$ (to the Chinese govt and his team), a deal to do camps or such in Shanghai and knowing that Ming will leave the team whenever China has to play int'l competitions, like the Worlds or Olympics.
