Jericho has done almost everything there possibly is to do as a wrestler except GM. It would a natural fit: former cruiserweight champ, dynamite promos, big star power. And it would also give him plenty of free time as he needed to tour with his band or go to Japan or just take time off. Besides, he has 4 more holds than Dean Malenko.
I would also be delighted if they brought back GM Vicki Guerrero.
Matt Hardy wouldn't be the worst choice either, especially if they are breaking free from RAW. The feud with Wyatt seemed to end Monday. Hardy can't really wrestle much more, but his gimmick is over like gangbusters. He could probably do more things in the vein of Broken Matt Hardy if it was network-only. It was brief, but Matt's run as Cruiserweight is one of my favorite things he did. Actually, the desperately trying to slim down to become a cruiserweight is a great gimmick they should give to someone who isn't doing anything like Zack Ryder or whoever. If they want me to by Cedric Alexander or Gran Metalik at under 205 pounds, I'll believe anyone.
Of course, if they decided to make me the next GM, that would be good too. Feel free to call, WWE!

If Finn Balor is the star they and his fans think he is I’d use him, but they seem committed to keeping him on the main roster.
So, I’d get the guy still selling out large indie events, Rey Mysterio although I don’t know if he has a Lucha Underground contract holding him down.
There is a good looking All American boy, who is an army vet and has a flashy move set I’d get in the pipeline right now and that is Flip Gordon who looks like he came out of the WWE dream cruiserweight mold.
This one is a long shot too but would like to see it the most. RVD. Good on the mic, would still get a pop, can work if they need a match or two from him, and has the cool substitute teacher vibe as GM.

Agree 100% about Gulak. Amazing how he's making the annoying kid at your Bar Mitzvah work as a WWE character.
The problem with 205 live is that it's the same as regular wrestling just with a minor league cast. In the 90s cruiserweight days, it was cool because the wrestling was so different. That kind of happened on 205 Live for a little bit, but not anymore.
It's not just that main roster guys have become way more athletic and can do the same moves now. It's also that they're making the cruiserweights wrestle generic WWE-style. Look what they've done with Gallagher for instance. You've got the guy with the funnest and most unique style of wrestling in the company & he's doing 5-minute matches that Mojo Rawley could do.
I missed the whole Monday Night Wars due to work, so only know of Sting by reputation. I know he has a huge fan base, and WWE needs to pull out all the stops to get people remotely interested in Smackdown.
