So I mowed the grass and washed the dishes and drove around listening to a Block Of Journey on 106.9 the FOX- which is a Tidewater station that we pick up here in the Richmond Metropolitan area. Mike Arlo is the dj and Mike Arlo was the eternal aging hipster dj from when I was teenager. You can always hear his voice come alive when he was about to play a Santana song from 1982 that you never wanted to hear. Anyway, I was driving around Chesterfield singing "oooooo oooo anytime that you want me." I went to the little specialty beer store on Ironbridge Rd and bought a couple things and you can make your own six pack. Let's get started shall we.

My boss Frank is the elderstatesman of booze in my circle of drunks. He's friends with the James River Brewers Association members, hangs out with owner of the Richmond Tap House. for my birthday, he got me a giant bottle of Corsendonk- an "Abbey Pale Ale" from Belgium- and he got a Corsendonk glass to drink it with. I promised him that if I did a booze review this weekend, I'd drink the Corsendonk first- and I SHALL!

CORSENDONK: It's got a fucking CORK and everything. I uncork it and let it breathe or whatever I am supposed to do with a corked booze. I pour it into the classy snifterlike glass and it gets a really big head. I take a sip and it is WONDEROUS.. ... Mmmmmmm. It tastes Belgian but not annoyingly Belgian. It doesn't taste like you mixed a tablespoon of Tang into a Harp. This has just enough fruitiness to make it a unique drinking thingy, but it has TRUE BOOZE ASS that muscles through the Europeanness to give it a manly taste that I love. It packs a 7.5% and I try not to chug it, but it 's really fucking good and Lewis Black is on the TV and my wife and kids are gone and I've already visited the lovely ladies of the internet and I'm thinking about getting pretty drunk and listening to some records with whoever shows up or just with the cat and dog. It'll be a big night. A big night of swanky drinking. Spring for the Corsendonk. It's a great way to start your Booze Hole Fill.

Uh-oh! MulDOOMSTONE is coming over. I will assume social drinking mindset and thus will end up not listening to Willie Nelson all night and crying like an old man who regrets his youth. Hopefully, this will end up as being funnier.

At the beer store, they had a comical selection for their make your own six-pack, but I dug that it was only $7.99 for the six. They had some good stuff but I had already tried most of them. One of the funnier beers they were passing off as "classy" was Genessee Creme Ale- which is kinda a poor man's Lowenbrau. It will be our DEMITASSE betwixt high-faluting booze. Let me cleanse my palate. Hmm. It's been awhile sine me n Genessee have seen each other and it's actully pretty good. She always would go the extra mile.

LEGEND STOUT: One of my LEGIT FAVORITE BOOZES is a local product - Legend Porter. Here is their seasonal STOUT! I am excited. Their chocolate stout is fabulous, I am excited by the regular stoot. Let's pour it and wait for MulDOOMSTONE to call and tell me that he is lost. OOOOOO its got the melted cassette tape taste I look for in the one off grotesque stout. Its a mellow melted taste that drifts easily from "Wet VCR Plugged In" to "chocolaty smooveness". It pours DEAD and then this head appears out of nowhere like this is a magic beer. Like they went to Hollywood cemetery in Oregon hill and dug up a Civil War grave and there was this ancient beer parchment with this magic stout brew and magically elements of beer appear. Like I guess I'll wake up tomorrow and by mid morning a fat girl will appear in my bed. It's good drinking and it's out of your booze drinking jurisdiction so it's fucking a thousand times better than any fucking Bells Stout you fucking Michiganers can go on about. It tells Bells Stout to suck its Dixie Fried Dick! This thing is fucking black as night. Stout. STOUT. STOUT.

- MulDOOMSTONE shows up at this point with more booze and a dvd of HARVEY BIRDMAN. I get him a booze-drinking goblet and I remember very few details past that.

TROIS PISTOLES: Very Belgian and orangy. Delivers the 9% very effectively.

MAUDITE: Smooth but I dunno if I will spend 6 bux a bottle on it next time though. It's good. But not La Fin Du Monde priced good.

STOUDT'S FAT DOG OATMEAL STOUT: This was good. Your basic pitch black stout,

WEYERBACHER OLD HEATHEN IMPERIAL STOUT: This was too MANLY for either me or the manly mulDOOMSTONE. It tastes a lot like beef boullion. It would have been better with a few carrots brewed in. The tase scared me. I am less... than a man....

FIRESTONE TWO BARREL ALE: But I am too much of a MAN to drink this Estrobrew. God, put an umbrella in it.

My head hurt quite a bit this morning and then re-slept through it. It was a fun evening.

YOURS IN BOOZE.

Genny Cream! My roommate at Rutgers used to drink that stuff like it was water. Granted, he was from Buffalo so I assume he drank that stuff since he was a little kid.

Hey Dean,

Ever tried anything from the Dogfish Head brewery? It's all sort of pretentious and overpriced, but not so bad in my experience.

Genny (twelve horse) Cream ALe! The first beer to ever make me puke! Ah, the memories!

BTW Dean, I had no idea Arlo was still alive, let alone "on your radio". I remember throwing darts one Cinco De Mayo with him and getting quite shitfaced. Very nice guy, but he does love his hippy music.

Actually, Liza just checked back into rehab. I guess she found out her husband's gay. Thank you, I'll be here all weekend! Except Sunday morning, I'm having brunch with my aunt. I think they should let Tom Waits do "Lose Yourself".
