Really surprized to see Dykstra go, I thought he was a great talent. Burke...we didn't see enough of him, and Yada, well...I don't know.
First Palumbo, London, Super Crazy, and maybe Adamle...now these three. Is this the WWE's version of spring cleaning, but in fall?

Kenny is young enough to return to the 'E at some point.
Lena Yada...I got nothing.

According to the few seconds I glanced at the Torch online, this round of cuts has to do with Linda McMahon's plan to cut $20-million minimum from WWE's operational procedures. WWE is going to increase international tours in 2009. The rest of the world is still lucrative with the US economy forcing the home market to dry up. Kenny is still green and vanilla, but at least maybe now he can go by Kenny Doane (sp?), assuming that is his real name.

I guess the same can be said for Elijah Burke/Kofi Kingston, except I guess they can both wrestle.
Did they ever attach some sort of ethnicity to Burke? I cant remember.

Too late. I know the latest Mexican tour was down off what they've done before (which follows their trend there). It'll be interesting to see if that's the same with the Europe tour, since wrestling seems as overexposed there.

The 4-UP on his wrist tape always led me to believe he was some sort of mushroom person.
The thing about these guys is you really can't get beter or more interesting to the writers by not having matches and not being on TV. And if you're called up and not already on TV, there's no way to get on TV or have matches in front of a live audience. (insert sad poem about Velocity here.) The recent FCW guys might have it better off, because at least they're still working in FCW too, but guys like Kenny and Elijah weren't going to become better wrestlers by never being in the ring.

I missed all of Burke's work with Terkay, but his singles work in ECW was consistently good. He could talk, he had good moves, and he just looked ready for primetime. His later Thorn/Gangrel gimmick was a thousand times wrong.

Plus Gail costs more. If they are trying to cut money and hire more expensive wrestlers then cuts are needed. There are also the rumors of Christian coming back to WWE so they may need to clear up more money.

Just to be clear, you are NOT talking about Mordecai/Kevin Thorn the Vampire, right? You are talking about Elijah Burke?

Right?

Right?
I'm talking Burke, with a new version of Gangrel's goblet. He combed out the dreads and went goth. And then he was gone.

As Cubs & others have alluded, they may have just decided to send him out in the big bad world for a while for seasoning. I'm notoriously bad at predictions, but I'm gonna speculate that he does Japan & Mexico type things, but not TNA. Then the E brings him back once he gets some world experience. | BigDaddyLoco

I think we might have to forget he was also stuck with the name Kenny Dykstra.
Elijah Burke is what I don't get about ECW. Granted the show is only an hour, but how do you not find a spot to showcase this guy? I know you can't show everybody, but he was one of the best parts about the early WWE/ECW shows?

He didn't have this look on TV, the last time he was on TV was the Smackdown that aired May 30th. He had the different look for a couple of dark matches in June and August. See here for match details. | | Pages: 1 2 Next
