| #1 Posted on 26.3.03 1946.35 | Okay....the door is now closing on my relationship with my ex-girlfriend, as I'm moving out on my own, and away from her.
SO, during these troubling times in my life, I need a CD chock full of songs that will fuel my ego, and remind me that I'm better than that, ummmm....well, yeah.
The only song I have so far is called HERE I GO AGAIN ON MY OWN by Whitesnake.
Any others anyone can suggest? I'm interested in all genres, with exception of R&B....
Thanks!

Anywho, Ben Folds Five's THE BREAKUP SONG is most excellent. Also, as said in another thread Weird Al'a ONE MORE MINUTE is also good.

| #10 Posted on 28.3.03 0818.11 | The Ben Folds Five song in question is actually called "Song For The Dumped". (I've seen it refered to with the other title, but it'll be much easier to find with the real one.)
Of course, a much better BF5 song for the situation would be "Julianne":
I met this girl, she looked like Axl Rose Got drunk and took her home and we slept in our clothes And in the morning put my feet on the floor and thought Being awake never felt like this before And Julianne y'know she wouldn't approve Talked only on the phone 'cause I had nothing to do Got rid of Axl by the afternoon Being awake never felt so clear and...
Blue - That's all I knew Guess that I was innocent too I sing a song and it won't be the blues 'Cause I don't miss Julianne
My friend she told me she felt sorry for me She said the truth would come crashing down on me That I'd be sorry but the truth of it is That I feel guilty for not giving a shit
Yahoo - That's all I knew Guess that I was innocent too I sing a song, yeah, and it won't be the blues 'Cause I don't miss Julianne
I got my bag of trash I got my bag of trash I drag it up and down, I drag it up and down the road How could she miss a man Who drags a bag of trash down the road?
This week I feel like I been born again I know that Julianne would have a fit She'd find a reason for the things that I did And gave me credit for the things that I've never been
Ohhh, that's what I am. Said, I'm not a sensitive man. I can try just as hard as I can, But I don't miss Julianne
That's all I knew Guess that I was innocent too I can try just as hard as I can And I don't miss Julianne

That Linkin Park song you suggested is quite powerful....even for a LP song.

"Love Hurts" is a Nazareth song.
On that note, I recommend Nazareth's "Hair of the Dog" ("Now you're messin' with a SONUVABITCH!").
Another great breakup song is Montley Crue's "Don't Go Away Mad". ("Girl, don't go away mad...just go away.")
Also, I'd recommend Zeppelin's "Hey, Hey, What Can I Do?" and (if you want to get depressed) "Since I've Been Loving You".

| #18 Posted on 2.4.03 0822.17 | The best goodbye songs are the sad, nostalgic ones.
1. Never Say Goodbye - Bon Jovi 2. Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday - Boys to Men 3. Somebody's Always Saying Goodbye - Anne Murray 4. Goodbye to Love - Carpenters 5. Goodbye to Romance - Ozzy Osbourne 6. Goodbye - Night Ranger
For the type of feel good song that you're looking for go with:
1. Movin Out/My Life - Billy Joel 2. I'm Free - John Secada 3. Martyr's Cross - Jim Croce
