I'm asking since they seem to be positioning him for a run at the top. Getting in HHH's face (though they never followed up on it - which is a shame), feuding with Angle, tagging with Hogan at the moment and subsequently feuding with Jericho from the looks of things.
But - before you want to give him a run at that Unified World Heavwight Championship - I'm thinking there's one last element he needs before he goes after it - and I think feuding with Jericho just might be what he needs before he goes after the big fish.
Let's face it. He's on Smackdown where the ALL top faces are either old, crippled or just working part-time.
So what do you guys think? Would a nice feud with Chris Jericho be the ticket to finally elevate Edge to be a contender? It wouldn't hurt Edge at all to feud with the man who unified the World titles in the first place.
Then again, if not this feud, maybe a haircut, new threads or (God forbid) a heel turn? (Yes, I am vehemently against Edge turning heel and joining the Canadians.) ;)
Edge needs a good heel competitor we haven't seen him face a million times (Angle). Unfortunately, Jericho was the one left. I don't know, I'd like to STILL see Edge pin Triple H 1-2-3 in the middle of the ring, but we all know it ain't happenin'.
I'd STILL like to see Edge/Storm again, but Storm's gotta' come up to Edge's level and that ain't happenin' just yet.
So, I'll say the person I want to see Edge feud with most is Eddie Guererro. Just for the matches and Edge's response to "Holmes".
Also, I would like to see Edge get some more mic time.
An open letter to Andrew Gilkison from me: Sir, I am no longer pleased with your product and thus will not read it. I am the consumer and your product is not living up to my expectations. I could open up an Andrew Gilkison message board and cry about it, but that's a waste of my time. In the meantime, I would suggest you work on improving your product. Thank you.
Watching RAW and Smackdown doesn't cost anymore than your posts do. And so, like a good consumer, I'm tuning you out.
Originally posted by BigDaddyLocoEdge should be a heel, and I think he will turn on Hogan and lead team Canada. It's a perfect angle for Hogan and a great way to build the midcard.
i've been wondering about that point
would WWE try to explain E&C being tight again? or avoid it like oh so many other dropped feuds
or would Jericho be a better Main Event leader for them
A freshly turned Edge would rule, esp. he turned off of Hogan and delcaring the Real American Hero dead...
that would reek of awesomness

Turning Edge heel would be like turning Christian face. It just doesn't make sense, and I wonder if he could do it alone.

Turning Edge is easy (or Christian for that matter).
Run the same angle they did with Bret and Owen in 97, how they came together for a common goal or whatever it was. It worked well then, it'd work well now, at least in my mind.
You can't turn Edge. That makes way too many heel Canadians. Edge needs to stay face and have a few feuds with heels who aren't angle. Then he actually has cred and a history as a face, making any eventual heel turn much more important.

Edge is getting face pops 'cause he's "just a guy". He's a lifelong Hulkamaniac. Why on earth would he turn on Hogan?
He cannot turn out of the blue. I am dead set against anymore of these stupid turns because we've seen enough of them over the past 5 years. It's time to pick a state and stick with it - turning when the storyline falls into place.
Edge will be fine. Win some, lose some, the fans will dig him.

Well he DID have to hold Hogan's American flag on the fourth of July...

If anybody will be joining the Canadian stable, it'll probably be Chris Jericho. The Canadians can then go ahead and label Edge a traitor to his country and Edge can fight against all odds. This should pretty much give rub to all involved, except for Jericho who will inevitable job. But hey, we're all used to him getting screwed by now, so what the hell? I'll be happy as long as I get Edge/Jericho at Summerslam.
And that's the bottom line, because it's false! It's DAMN false!
Okay, prediction now for Vengeance: Jericho faces Cena in the midcard, and Edge runs in and hands Cena the win after a spear for Jericho. THEN, Jericho can simply cost Edge and Hogan the straps against Storm and Christian, joining Team Canada as their leader and setting Edge Vs. Jericho at SummerSlam. Easy as pie.

I like that idea a lot better than I like turning Edge. The Smackdown roster could use some good main-event faces -- right now they just have Triple H (who's not as good as he used to be), the Rock (whose participation is dubious, especially when he goes off to shoot another movie), and Hogan (who's, well, Hogan). If Edge turns heel, he'll either get stuck tag-teaming with Christian again, or be mistaken for a slightly taller Chris Jericho clone.
Like someone above mentioned, Edge right now is portrayed as having Hogan for his hero. They angle involves a combination work/shoot with him being in the crowd for Wrestlemania, being a Hulkamaniac as a kid, etc etc. To have him turn on Hogan now merely because he is Canadian is silly and makes no sense. I don't care what kind of nationalistic pride he might have, he wouldn't turn away from his childhood hero like that.
However, even with all that, it is possible to have him turn on Hogan. But it needs to be because Hogan lets him down. It can be sudden or a gradual buildup, but have Edge really need Hogan on a few occassions, and Hogan lets him down in a big way. Then you could have a believable turn because Edge had such a great opinion of Hogan as his hero, and Hogan crushed that opinion. A turn against his Hero just because he is Canadian is NOT going to be believable.

I agree with that idea, except for sticking Jericho in Team Canada. Simply put, Storm MUST lead the stable if he's ever going to get over as anything other than Jericho's little buddy. Edge could just as easily cost Jericho the Vengeance match against Cena, and Jericho could cost Edge and Hogan the tap straps just as easily, without actually joining Team Canada. The feud, and run-ins, could just be about their dislike for each other, and everyone could buy into that, without Jericho being shoe-horned into a stable that he doesn't need but Storm DOES need.
Lance Storm is an awsome wrestler, but to me he is dull on the mic. Lance needs a valet or manager to be his mouth piece, Y2J would be good for Team Canada but would just aboot kill a Storm push to bigger things. Edge needs a longer run as a face for a shocking heel turn. Edge,Y2J, and Lance, as Main-Eventers? Glory, glory, glory, mine eyes have seen the light, Vince has seen the light.
I'll believe that Jericho and Storm are getting a prolonged run at the top of the card when I see it.
You know how Vince is about little guys.
Edge, I can believe, actually.
