Val just defeated Edge (might have been someone else but I believe it was Edge). After the match, Edge grabbed the mic. His exact words.
"Val, you were the best man tonight. But you won't be the best man at my wedding. Do you know why? Because Christian will be"
Ummmmmm yea ok...
Anyone know where the true story behind this?

As I recall, Edge got busy with the Hardys/Dudleys feud and Val just kind of treaded water for a few months until turning heel.

Edge explained on Observer Live a long time back that it was to be the start of an angle and Val/Edge program. But Val got hurt and E&C/Dudleys/Tables was getting so much heat that E&C joined the tag feud with the Dudleys and Hardys. | Freeway
