From 1wrestling via 411:

Edge met with Dr. Lloyd Youngblood today regarding his neck injury. Tests indicated that he will likely need surgery. He is scheduled to wrestle in a 6 man tag match at No Way Out, but his involvement in that match is now in question.

One possible replacement option right now is Rhyno. Paul Heyman has been pushing to have Rhyno join the Smackdown brand upon his return. Rhyno was originally set to join Triple H's Evolution group, but those plans have since changed.

Heyman was the man who gave Rhyno his first big break back in ECW. Word is that Edge also likes the idea of Rhyno taking his place.

Boy, Edge has falled far from early last year, when he was tag champs with Hogan and teasing a feud with HHH. Here's hoping to a speedy recovery.

Mixed feeling about this, of course i feel bad for Edge the man, but Edge the wrestler just doesnt do it for me, he doesnt belong near the main event in my mind, and any wins he gets while there, still feels contrived to me.

Edge is solid, but I enjoy him as a heel way more. He doesn't seem to be the smartass he once was. I remember his promo at the Survivor Series during the Invasion as one of his shining moments. It was short and sweet, from what I remember. Basically he said "Test, when I beat you for the belt tonight, you will get up and say 'I just lost...what's that all aboooot?'" and the look on his face with the Test voice was solid gold. I'd be happy to see Rhyno take his place there. It'd instantly elevate Rhyno and put him back into the mix.

Well, Edge helped conclude Smackdown, and they didn't say anything about him not being able to compete at No Way Out, so I'd say he is a go!

This is a shame, as Edge is on the cusp of the main event, or at least pretty far up the card. And I am a Rhyno fan, but I think he should be a RAW heel (because RAW needs heels..is Batista considered the #3 heel on there??). I think if Edge has to step out of his NWO match, it wouldn`t be a stretch to move Rey Mysterio out of his Heat match to take Edge`s place. He is Edge`s friend, and has past issues with Kurt.

I thought Edge made a good face, though his heel work was superb. Wasn't it a few smackdowns ago that he took a huge beatdown at the beginning of the show, then limped back into the ring to compete against some combination of Benoit/Angle/Guerrero? He was selling the injury, doing the babyface in peril thing to perfection. It had me believing in him, and that's all I need from a face.

It's too bad that this happened now. Edge seemed to be on the rise. I gained a lot of respect for his ring work during his match against Eddie on Smackdown at the end of September.

Today's Observer says the dream is probably dead. Lesnar challenging for the title is the planned main event for SummerSlam, but they are hoping SS will be Bryan's first show back, so he won't have time to win the belt back.
