I do believe the "custody battle" of Edge is one of the hot topics at the moment. Does he stay on Smackdown or move to Raw?

Now I won't ramble on about how in numerous cases Smackdown is being treated like a souped-up B-show to Raw and how Raw is siphoning SD talent and giving little to nothing in return. However, if they must take Edge away from Smackdown, Raw should give someone to them.

Who, you may ask? The answer is obvious. Rob Van Dam.

It benefits Van Dam giving him all-new opponents and the edit machine in case he screws up a spot or two. Sure he likes the live TV but let's face it - since the World Title match against HHH in September of 2002, the WWE's lovable pothead has been 'just there' for the most part.

That's my say. Keep Edge put or trade him for RVD.

I agree with that scenario.

I wonder if talent dreads having to move from SmackDown to RAW when they hear all the horror stories about short-cut pushes and being treated like Hunter/Shawn's bitches?

Given how RVD is seriously under-used on Raw right now, I think trading him to Smackdown in exchange for everything Raw has taken from SD just might be the only road to saving RVD's WWE career.

SD has set a precident of using smaller guys with interesting ring styles to their fullest potential. Hell, Eddie's the champ right now, ain't he? And Benoit was a force on the show till he jumped ship. RVD could have an incredible program with Cena, Eddie, Chavo, Angle, you name it, and it would all be FRESH! (as long as RVD and Chavito don't need to cut a lot of promos on each other... shudder....}.

Plus, on SD, you've got Heyman. With Heyman's fingers in the booking pie, you can be sure to see RVD shine a little brighter. If anyone has the proven ability to use Rob in interesting ways, it's Heyman.

RVD could be a star on Smackdown. I'd love to see him make the move. The sooner the better.

So sayeth Randy Stilton.

Send Booker, too. What else is he going to do on Raw?

SD lost Hardy, Benoit, and is rumored to lose Edge. Book 7 RVD going to SD would be a fair trade. I'd throw in Helms, too.

That makes alot of sense. Booker, RVD and Hurricane are by far the three most stale performers on RAW. Neither of them have been involved in anything worthwhile since RVD had a few OK matches with Randy Orton. I like Booker and RVD as a team though, they complement eachother well. Need to keep them together, even with a roster change.

I'd imagine Helms will end up switching shows following WrestleMania as part of the "Cruiserweight Open", which is, as Paul E. said, for any little guy who wants to participate. You just know he's going to be in it on the night, and they seem to want to ramp up the cruiser division.

Also, I concur with the "send Book and/or van Dam to Thursdays" sentiment. There is literally nothing that I can think of that stops this from beign a great idea.

Smackdown really needs another face now that Kurt Angle has turned. Booker T would be the best fit, IMO. Booker/Angle and Booker/Lesnar are completely fresh. Booker and Big Show even had some good matches a couple years ago.

i was thinking last night, if(if) Shawn Michaels is gonna continue to wrestle for at least the next year or so(considering he just recently became "full-time" again) i wouldn't mind seeing him on the SD side of things. He's a face, he's wrestled mostly everyone on raw, in my opinion is still a terrific talent considering he has lost a few steps.

he is also a legitimate legend and I'd love to see him in the ring with angle, Brock, Eddie(especially) before it's all said and done for him. i think it would be a good change of pace for him. anyone with some input on that?

Thats a viable option, especially if he needs any work done on his knee after WMXX. It also helps to freshen him up in a way which doesn't consist of him going heel. I dont think HBK as a heel would work nowadays. He is good as a tweener, but fans want to do nothing but cheer him. If anybody else were to have superkicked Benoit and "stolen" his title shot, they would be booed like crazy.

HBK vs Eddie in a face vs face match would be totally sweet.

It's completely ludicrous that RAW needs more SMACKDOWN! talent. Of course, it's obvious just why RAW needs to invade SMACKDOWN! all the time.

If anything, no trade. Just give RVD to SMACKDOWN!

looks like Edge had a setback ...

from PWInsider:

"Edge, who has been talked about a lot here on the site this past week, has suffered an injury as he prepares to return to WWE from his 2003 neck surgery. He was scheduled to start his rehab at Ohio Valley Wrestling last week, but somewhere along the way suffered a badly sprained ankle. As a preventive measure, he is wearing a boot and is expected to be good to go within a month."

I'm thinking there's something wrong with that article. Or it's misleading (or both). If he's set to "go" in a month, that would mean he would be able to wrestle in 4 weeks right?

It wasn't likely that he was coming back for the next 2 weeks anyway, which means that given promo time, etc., it still doesn't seem as though there's a reason for him not to come back the week after WM.

Edge still is supposed to 'work off some ring rust' down in OVW. This seems to say he wouldn't be able to do that for another month. So, I wouldn't hold my breath on March 15th looking for him at RAW.

One thing about RVD is that he works really well when a super big guy is pounding the shit out of him. He's demonstrated that with the Undertaker and Brock, having good matches with both. He had one fantastic PPV match with Brock, it wasn't the KOTR final, something else, but I don't remember...

I think he'd be great for Smackdown.

Although it's probably not realistic, seeing HBK going over to Smackdown would provide a ton of dream matches that people would want to see... vs. Lesnar, Eddie, Angle, maybe even with somebody like a Misterio, Chavo, or Cena. But, I agree with the general consensus here that RVD and Booker would both get real fresh starts on SD a la the Big Show after his trade, except with a lot more potential. Helms just flatout needs a gimmick change, RAW or SD. Of course, the best solution to all of this would be to just keep Edge on SD and bring either RVD or Booker over to SD in some sort of trade scenario.

Clearly, there needs to be a transitional RAW champ, in order to get the belt off heel HHH and onto face HHH. I suggest HHH. Oh, and Kobe, get a new nickname.
