Well, I notice a lot of people ripping on Edge saying how mediocre he is and that he'll never get to the "next level". I beg to differ, actually. Actually I think I'll go out on a limb and say (barring any injuries) that Edge will be the Unified World Champion within the next 18 months.

You never know. It could happen.

Hey - if you want examples of supposed "never-will-be's" - look no farther than one Hunter Hearst-Helmsley. :)

I admit i was an edge mark up until the conquistadors thing.
Now the guy is just there.
Im sure the guy will be a world champ in the future. But,not a very good one.

Edge is probably the next, but, Kawshen, I am hoping for the Bookerman. Anything but Rob Van Dam please...

Anything but the most over person in the WWF's upper-midcard right now?

Spoiler: On Smackdown Edge has a funny skit with Hogan and then is in the main event with Hogan vs. Angle and Y2J.

Edge is alright but he was better with Christian.

Edge isn't main event material. Dude has next to no mic skills. His matches are more than predictable. If anyone around deserves a run, it's Angle.

Kurt Angle *IS* a main-eventer, upseting as it may be for the Internet community to realize that (one less thing to bitch about).

If Edge could recapture some of the charisma he had with Christian, I can see him taking that final step...

All I'm saying is keep your eyes peeled. Edge could be big one day.

I mean - think about it.

Would you have thought that "American Blueblood" HHH, or "Blue Chipper" Rocky Maivia or the Ringmaster would be at the top echelon right now?
Especially Rock. The sheep HATED his ass - giving him that fabled "X-Pac/Bossman Heat" I've heard smarks babble on about. :)

EDGE?! Good God Zero hopes not.

All he is a mearly-average wrestler with mic ability consististing of nothing but witless remarks (Red, White, and Bald?! Give Zero a break), who can only get over by riding mark hatred against much more talented heels (i.e. Christian, Booker T, and Angle).

Think about it. Anyone, even the Brooklin Brawler, could look good feuding with Angle. Edge should get down on his untalented knees and thank Angle every day for where he is now.

Next Undisputed Champion? Zero is with StampedeFan and says it should be Booker T. Fans love him, he's hilarious both in the ring and out, and without looking like a joke. Great wrestler with a unique style, and catch phrases that'll sell T-shirts.

Give him his Book End back and a decent, non-forced push, and you have a wrestler who can make money at Austin and Rock levels.

Maybe it should be Booker, but I think the next guy to be elevated to the main event level and given a title run will be RVD. Not that he'll be the next champ, but he'll be the next guy to get the belt that hasn't held a WWF or WCW title before.

how could I forget that Booker T. is a five time five time five time five time WCW champ. for the sake of my argument, let's pretend that he never got the belt.

I think that first you need to look at people who have been at the PPV main event level, but only briefly. Edge has never had that, so I think he'll get a brush with the main event--like RVD did last year--before he'll ever get a sustained push to that level like Jericho is getting now.

Big Show: His latest heel turn is looking good, but not main-event good. I doubt he'll ever see the belt or PPV main-event again, but I'd love to see him booked as a monster who doesn't need the belt.

RVD: He'll get there, but first? I think there are two with a better shot.

Booker T: I love him, but he's the oldest guy on this list. I don't think he'll ever reach the PPV main event level again, but I may change my mind after we see how his face turn plays out.

Rikishi: He's been putting in a lot more effort lately, but I think the Fed considers his mini-push a mistake. Rightly.

Kane: Or Glen Jacobs, I should say. I think they're going to kayfabe his long break by saying that he got plastic surgery, lose the mask and costume, and give him a big push as a main-event level face when he comes back. You never know...

Benoit: He'd already be at this level if it wasn't for his injury. I'll be surprised if we don't see a big push for him as soon as he's back as well.

sergei

P.S. The people that I think are already at this level are Austin, Rock, Angle, Jericho, Hogan, HHH, and Undertaker. They don't all main-event regularly, but they are the ones that have main-evented regularly in the past few years and the Fed is prepared to use at that level anytime storylines call for it.

RVD cuts a HOT promo before his world title match with Triple H:
"So, uh, yeah, Triple H...man you're big. And that's ok. And you beat me once already. Ok, man. But this time I'm going to win because I'm
(points to self)
And when you're RVD it's always cool. So, ya know, whatever."

I wait with bated breath for the first WWEEEEE world champ with a case of stage fright.

You're an idiot.

Zero understands how hard it is for the average peon like yourself to make an on-topic constuctive post, but just a bit of advice: if those half-dozen brain cells of yours can't, do yourself a favor and post nothing at all.

Unless looking like an ass is what you were aiming for; where in that case, Zero says Mission Accomplished.
