I think the matches are usually far more exciting int he end when the ECW elimination style is employed. The winner usually comes out looking better than he would in the WWF style, since he at least outlasted, if not outright defeated, all of the other guys. Plus the losers can easily save face by losing as a result of pacts between the other two. There's also the added psychology of such things as not wanting to be the one who scores the first elimination since it might leave you open to attack by the third man, whether or not two wrestlers can/should trust one another to take out the third man, letting the other two beat the crap out of one another and one get eliminated and then go for the attack, etc., all of which were used by the heel Shane Douglas in the 4 corners match against Jericho, 2 Cold and Pitbull 2 in 1996. The WWF style can be fun, but all of the tricks used there can also be used in teh ECW style (as in the Raven-Pitbull2-Sandman match from 96 when they saved one another from being pinned just so they could continue to wear one another down, IIRC).

I'm just thinking that all of the good ECW styles ones I've seen wouldn't have been as exciting to watch in the WWF style and the WWF style ones that worked would have been even better if they were ECW style.

Original quote:

I like ECW three ways better. I don't like the way that one can become a champion without actually pinning the champion in the WWF. The WWF being all about saving face for it's stars will never go to this format, until they get rid of the I pin you, you pin me booking style.

I hate hate hate hate HATE this argument.

I don't care whether you like this arguement or not, it's a valid point. The only reasons for the WWF style is that they can be done quicker and everyone saves face.

But it's NOT valid. As I said in the rest of my post, this predicament never happens, but people bitch and moan and whine and cry simply because it COULD if the WWF all of a sudden has a change of heart and uses the finish.

I was up in the balcony, Dep, so I saw everything. - The three way match was booked splendidly, as Lacey was getting upset any time Jacobs went after Cabana. Cabana responded by daring Jacobs to hit him...
