Disclaimer: I didn't see a single ECW show during the first go-round.During the Supershow tapings when they tape Heat, RAW, Velocity and SmackDown all in the same night, I think it detracts from the whole "This is SmackDown!" feeling. Just putting up some blue lights doesn't really cut it.
I think it'll detract
significantly from the whole "This is ECW~! The Renegade Promotion!" feel of the thing when, you know, they tape the ECW show on the set of WWE SmackDown, in a major sports arena that can fit 17,000 people, and with WWE-quality production values.
Don't get me wrong, I'll still go out of my way to watch it-- and the next time SmackDown comes to Hampton Roads, I won't immediately wave my hand dismissively and go, "Eh, I like RAW better, I'll pass, thanks." I'm just saying it'll be hard to maintain the suspension of disbelief that ECW is its own separate brand when they tape the shows on a WWE set.
