Originally posted by MayhemAnd where is Big Daddy V? He was getting a solid push not that long ago and now he can't even get a spot in the pre-WM battle royal? Anyone have any scoop on that?
I thought that was weird, too, but it didn't actually register with me until I saw Striker give the V hand sign to Chavo during his main event entrance. He's still listed at wrestlemania.com, but maybe that's just an oversight?
I'm also wondering if Mahoney is out, since we didn't see HIM in there either. If I recall correctly, we haven't seen him since he was quickly squashed on Smackdown several weeks back, and it sure looks like the Kelly romance angle is long gone...although it was neat to hear Joey sneak in an "ex-girlfriend" reference Knox' way.
MIKE KNOX POSE
KINDA fun watching Festus go nuts during the main event on the outside - then be the only one not to hit the ring after the bell rang AGAIN. Probably more fun because it got no commentary at all, and commentary would have had a "sledgehammer us over the head" type effect.
What's ALSO loads of fun: putting "future ECW Champion" in front of the most unlikely battle royale winners and saying it as if you were deathly serious:
FUTURE ECW CHAMPION HACKSAW JIM DUGGAN FUTURE ECW CHAMPION CHARLIE HASS FUTURE ECW CHAMPION VAL VENIS FUTURE ECW CHAMPION DOMINO FUTURE ECW CHAMPION JESSE
Does Snitsky getting the fall make him the odds-on favourite to win the battle royal? Of course not, dummy - they're not going to have a heel/heel matchup! This is WRESTLEMANIA!
From what I've been able to piece together, the participants are Big Daddy V, Elijah Burke, Lance Cade, Deuce, Domino, Tommy Dreamer, Hacksaw Duggan, Festus, Charlie Haas, Mark Henry, Hardcore Holly, Jesse, Kane, Brian Kendrick, The Great Khali, Paul London, Shannon Moore, Trevor Murdoch, Jamie Noble, Chuck Palumbo, Cody Rhodes, Snitsky, Val Venis, and Jimmy Wang Yang. But I didn't see ECW (we don't get it until Friday) and so I'm going off of TV reports.
Originally posted by DawgI didn't catch it, who are all the participants anyways?
Also, if the match is pre-show WM will it start at 6:45 or will it even be broadcast?
Apparently it will be broadcast on WWE.com, so I don't expect it to be on the modern-day equivalent of the Free-For-All.
Am I wrong in suspecting that the only potential winners are the Monster Mashers (Kane, Henry, Khali, and V), as well as Colin & Tommy, since these are the only people that have actually been pushed directly related to the Royal? My money was on Kane, but after last night with the talk of Colin possibly winning, it seems more and more likely. The only thing against that is it seems like Colin winning the Royal would be a great Mania moment, and I don't see him winning the title, so can you really have a great Mania moment if nobody sees it?
It is the policy of the documentary crew to remain true observers and not interfere with its subjects.
Ohhhhhh shit. I was really bummed he didn't do it during his entrance, but then our favorite ex-boyfriend of Barbie Blank (Kelly Kelly's real name - seriously) stuck that goddamn foot out and threw one arm up and one arm to the side and YEAH - Mike Knox Pose.
More importantly, I originally read it as "MIKE - KNOX - POSSE" in your post, and my first reaction was "sign me up."
In all seriousness, what happened to that guy? Dude looks terrible.

OK, I found the screen for the match. Lo-qual but here you are:
We can now definitively edit this:

Also: not Colin Delaney, not Colin Delany, and not Colin Delaney.
Also also: these people reviewing this show are AWFUL! How can you not bother to note all 24 men in the 24 man match? DEATILS, PEOPLE. It's why you bother with a recap in the first place.
Also also also: I KNOW I spelled "DETAILS" wrong. I DID IT ON PURPOSE. OBVIOUSLY.
ECW is treated like a third tier promotion, barely more relevant than developmental, the ECW belt has taken the Cruiserweight's spot on the totem pole without the weight restriction and this has been the case since about June 24, 2007?
It's been 9 months, I don't know why this is surprising. Chavo Guerrero holds the belt, that's a pretty clear sign that it doesn't have a big importance.
Originally posted by Cerebus Nice to see Gordon Solie getting some props, but did he ever call matches for the company? ...not that I'm nitpicking.
Not sure, but I think it's been well established that WWE wants their HoF to be all-encompassing, and not just honoring guys who worked for them.
Well, for all intents and purposes, he did call matches for the company, since everything has been merged into one entity anyway. So really, there has to be at least some connection to the WWE to make it into the Hall. For example, unless he jumps over, it's doubtful you'll ever see Don West in the Hall.
In short, after a Raw main event that had Booker T & Undertaker (and some other people) facing a heel team went off the air, 'Taker did the thing with Booker T about how it was time for him to give the people what they came to see.
