Just startin' the thread to show my appreciation for the Chavo, Edge, Vickie et al. storyline that has now invaded ECW. The "et al." now includes C.M. Punk, and I'm very curious to see where this is all going. Knowing ahead of time that The Cutting Edge would be on the show - with Punk as the guest - hooked me to watch.
And - did Shelton Benjamin look like a Superstar or what?
Originally posted by Spiraling_ShapeAre there any other faces on the ECW Roster? Tommy Dreamer is M.I.A...it's all heels lining up to face Punk. I miss Elijah Burke, but he has no one to match up with.
I did love the interaction between Punk & Edge...nice to remind people that even though he is the champ of the "C" brand, Punk IS a champ and SHOULD stand toe-to-toe with Edge.
I think Balls Mahoney is still around. Nunzio/Guido seems to be whatever they want him to be, face or heel, depending on who he is facing. Is Shannon Moore on the ECW or Smackdown! roster? It's hard to remember these days.
Anyone think that he will get a shock victory of Razor Ramon-ic proportions in the coming weeks ?
I've been thinking about this while watching the Colin Delaney segments. Unfortunately he's way skinnier than Sean Waltman ever was, so I don't know what they can really do; they book guys like Jimmy Wang Yang as small scrappy cruiserweights, and they outweigh this Delaney character by about 100 pounds.
Kofi Kingston seems to be coming in as a face. If he gets any kind of reaction in the next few weeks, he could be pushed to whatever ECW's version of IC-title level is.
How you uh, how you comin' on that novel you're working on? Huh? Gotta a big, uh, big stack of papers there? Gotta, gotta nice litte story you're working on there? Your big novel you've been working on for 3 years? Huh? Gotta, gotta compelling protaganist? Yeah? Gotta obstacle for him to overcome? Huh? Gotta story brewing there? Working on, working on that for quite some time? Huh? Yea, talking about that 3 years ago. Been working on that the whole time? Nice little narrative? Beginning, middle, and end? Some friends become enemies, some enemies become friends? At the end your main character is richer from the experience? Yeah? Yeah?
Anyone else get a kick out of this visual? For those who didn't see it, at the very end of the Rumble you had Chris Benoit, Chris Jericho, Kurt Angle, Rob Van Dam, and John Cena teaming up to pick up the Big Show to throw him out of the ring.
