By far, the funniest part of this show as the food fight, the most orderly, calm food fight in history for the first 90%.

- Girl #1 grabs food item,
- Girl #2 stands still and makes no attempt at defense
- Girl #1 pours it over Girl #2
- switch until you run out of things you can pour.

It was as if it caught them by surprise each time, anew.

Nice of Layla to mention she's still with Miz, since that bit has seemed otherwise dropped.

The second funniest part, and probably only to those who followed the fallout last week, was Miz and Morrison bending over backwards to say every nice thing they could think of about the two teams in the ring (most of the time), in between making sure Joey and Tazz had plenty of time to get in what they wanted to say. It's almost like yelling and threats of violence work! I wonder if they'll remember to bring that bell.

Shelton to ECW is interesting. Not that I want you to think I'm thinking "OMFG they're totally blasting him thru the glass ceiling now!!1!!"- he's probably never going to be more than spare part and never totally fulfill the potential the potential people saw in him, but he's been part of fun moments in the past and could still be in the future.

Shelton seems set up to be a CM Punk challenger of the month at some point down the line, which might not mean anything to the bottom line but ought to be good. I wish there was some inbetween feud he could have to re-establish him as a threat (avoiding the issues we had with Jamie Noble), but there's really no roadblocks to get thru to face CM Punk - once you beat Dreamer, that's pretty much it.

More so, in the big picture, Shelton's a talented guy who couldn't find a spot in (mainstream) WWE, a bit of a misfit toy. Benjamin ending up in ECW keeps to the spirit of the original promotion more than any table spot could.

Where does this leave ol' Charlie now?

I don't really mind the new Kevin Thorn (even if he looks like a Smackdown vs. Raw CAW). The whole goth thing seemed played out ... plus that character lost its steam when they canned Ariel.

This Smackdown/ECW crossover is working out way better than I could have hoped.

I had no idea Miz and Morrison were the tag champs, and it's a fantastic idea. Shelton/Punk could be fun too.

RAW and ECW offer nice match-ups this week. If SmackDown can do the same, the WWE will be a much more interesting place.

Kudos to Respected Ring Veteran Layla for calling an audible when Kelly just couldn't figure out how to pop the top on the Reddi-Whip.

Nice of Layla to mention she's still with Miz, since that bit has seemed otherwise dropped.
They keep saying that they're "ex-dance partners" but...if Layla is still under contract to Miz, why is Kelly NOT? (And if she isn't, how does she come to appear on the ECW show every week?)

Don't get me wrong - I don't expect them to explain this stuff at this point and it's not keeping me from watching, but that doesn't make it any less annoying.

I wonder if Thorn will start dressing in white and bleach his hair...carry a staff...appear on Smackdown...

Cole: "THIS MAN WALKS OUR STREETS!!!"

I GUESS Shelton could wrestle Stevie? I reckon he won't turn on Elijah since it's always such a shame when they force the brothas...... to wrestle each otha.

You could tell this wasn't TNA because at the end of the tag match, nobody said "How was THAT, *JBL*? Was that OKAY, *JBL*?" which is how Russo would have done it. Kudos for Miz and Morrison for being professional enough to avoid the temptation of making the easy comment (which probably isn't much of a temptation given that Vince...kinda hates it when people do that)

I thought Dykstra had some nice stiff work with Punk, although maybe more offense than you'd want to see against the Champion. Less of a complaint if you look at the belt as more like US Title level? Also nice Orton-esque death sell of the GTS.

I think I had Haas getting wished the best in his future endeavors a couple weeks ago, although I had Shelton reassigned to Heat - blocking any thoughts of a Team Angle reunion. I like the idea of Benjamin moving over though, and look forward to seeing what he and Punk can eventually come up with. But is Burke injured or something? Talk about the underutilized leading the underutilized...

Dreamer has that Mick Foley "I'm only here to put people over" thing going that makes his matches utterly uninteresting to me.

I'm glad to see Morrison and Miz go in the complete opposite direction of MVP/Matt as mismatched tag champs. The good part of the 'talent exchange' gimmick is that the show looks less like ECW Thunder, but the bad is the combined ECW/SmackDown offering is now a weekly 3-hour WWE Nitro, yes?

I won't bury him after one week, but Thorn seemed to have lost his mystique with the switch to more conventional ring gear, so now he's gonna need something else to make him stand out from "generic power guy".

Layla and Kelly needed the music Burt Reynolds had for the swamp fight in "Longest Yard". I was very disappointed that we didn't get Joey calling "FOOD FIGHT! FOOOOOOOOOD FIGHT!!"

Viz is trying hard, but still seems like "generic big guy". Striker is about three times more interesting as a character. Getting close enough to an immobilized Kane to still get himself choked was good stuff.

Those were the most fake and girliest punches thrown by Big Daddy V that I have ever seen. He has absolutely no heat right now and why for the devil they are demoting Kane to feud with him I don't know.

I used to like Big Daddy V in the days when he was Mabel. He generated crowd interest back then. He could do moves that only a few other super-giants could do.

I guess it goes that he is meant to be involved in tag teams where he can do a few power and weight related moves and tag in a partner rather than endure a long match.

I thought it was because he knees were shot why V was so bad lately on TV. Right now, the only thing I know that he is horrible.

I'm taking the over. Carlito's already left skid marks out of this company, I don't see them sending another warm body to TNA. (Not that I see them hiring Haas even if he does get cut loose.)

I'm Charlie Owens, good night, and good luck.

Actually, the best way for WWE to hurt TNA is send them more warm bodies they have no idea what to do with, but will jam in four segments to justify their existence.

Eh. There's always the remote possibility TNA stumbles over a huge money-making feud if Vince ships them the right mix of castoffs.

I don't think Charlie Haas is the talent that TNA's going to strike gold with, as talented as he is. That said, I think he'd be an awesome A.J. Styles type flunky for Angle (even if he has -actual- A.J. right now...hell, put the two of 'em together and let 'em be dumb outside the ring and wicked inside).

I can't argue with that, but.......you ever have a garage sale, youy put stuff outside, then you start taking some things back in the house, because you really don't want to part with them, or you think they're still useful?

Well, so far TNA has bought an Olympic gold medalist, a guy Vince didn't see as a main eventer, and a guy who'd probably still have a belt if they'd kept him on Smackdown. Eventually, Vince will "trash" something that TNA will make a ton of "treasure" off of.

No way. TNA could have brought in Jericho and they would still be in the same spot they are right now. It's hard for the treasure to stand out among all the rusted out junk in the front yard. TNA needs a total house cleaning both for on air talent and backstage, before they can even begin to be anything more than a total clusterfuck.
