Yeah, so what? It was aired on Tuesday in the US, but here in Canada, we get to see it...Friday at midnight. Seriously.
Anyhow, since this was the first time I'd seen the show in some time, I do have some comments and questions.
1: The show moved very, very slowly. The announce team was TERRIBLE. Wow, talk about boring. Does anyone here remember the syndicated shows where they seemed to edit parts of the commentary, thus giving it what sounded as awkward moments? Yeah - the announce team seems like that. What's Scott Hudson doing nowadays?
2: Lance Archer is pretty badass in the ring: the video promo made him look incredible. I don't think he looked as vicious during his entire tenure in TNA than he did in that storyline. Not sure I like his comment about painting a masterpiece of agony, though. Sounds kinda...I dunno.
3: Shelton Benjamin's a face? I must have missed that memo. To his credit, he has a great chemistry with Christian.
4: How bizarre is it that they're shilling the Hulk Hogan DVD? He works for the competition!!! Has anyone bought it? Is it worth watching? Are the matches in their entirety? I'm interested in seeing it, but not if they're edited for time and contend.
5: Trent Barreta & Caylen Croft really impressed me, but their theme music will take time to get used to. And what's with the comment about Stephen Hawking? I dunno.
I normally miss ECW due to work constraints, but with a rare Friday night off, I was able to check it out. With no way to watch it online (legally*), I often wonder what I miss out on, but it seems not much.
Comments on ECW as a whole or the show?
*I know ECW is available through WWE's site via Hulu, but Hulu is STILL not available to Canadian viewers. I'm sure it's viewable through Youtube, but that's not exactly legal, right?
I'm willing to give ECW a shot but it's really been annoying me lately with these random pushes of guys I don't care about. Fortunately Shelton, Christian, regal, Yoshi, Zeke, Kozlov is a great main event scene.
To answer a couple of your questions:
3: Shelton Benjamin's a face? I must have missed that memo. To his credit, he has a great chemistry with Christian.
He has been feuding with Ryder for weeks now. You know it.
4: How bizarre is it that they're shilling the Hulk Hogan DVD? He works for the competition!!!
Well, I don't think anyone's gonna watch TNA after seeing that and they like to make money shilling their DVDs obviously.
No comment on the Abe Washington show? It was terrible as always, although the interplay with Abe and Tony Atlas is actually sometimes funny. Not this week though.
I thought the Baretta/Croft theme music was actually great, in the ring not so much. Do we need more variants of the Hart Attack? They did give the highlight of the night though with their comment on Paul Birchall. "Didn't he used to be a pirate?"
"Put on your helmets, we'll be reaching speeds of 3!" "It was nice of you to give that dead woman another chance." "All right, look alive everybody...oh sorry Susan."- MST3K: Space Mutiny Click Here (myspace.com)

If I didn't know it, I wouldn't have asked.
That would be my fault Oliver, I covered that turn. It was one of the odder turns. Yet probably better than the resent Batista turn because of Rey & breaking up pins. Yet, I'm always one for at least there is a story. Sort of like the first John Cena turn from face to heel. I'm upset because of the outcome of a tag match. Wrestling continues its bizarre ways.
I'm not sure what's so weird about Batista turning on Rey because he thought they were friends and he's tired of losing title matches, but that's not for this topic..

I'm talking the art of turns in general. It would probably end up as flipping list if the discussion were to even occur on this board. So I'm not even headed in the direction of starting such here. Other than brief comparison and added content for filler. Like the most recent Kane turn, which everyone seems to mostly agree on.
"Does he ever really just turn?" Anyways, back to ECW.
I'm not really impressed by LanceVance HoytArcher so far. From what I've seen, his stuff is basic and pedestrian, and he just adds a lot of eye-bugging, heavy breathing, and muscle-flexing to show he's being INTENSE.
On the other hand, that's worked out pretty well for Sheamus so far, so what do I know?
"The object of persecution is persecution. The object of torture is torture. The object of power is power. Now do you begin to understand me?"
That's always what I thought...WWF is always claiming how much more money they made at a PPV, but since ticket prices are always rising and PPV purchase amount goes up, of course they'll make more...
