No Chavo.

Kofi shows them jobbers a lesson again. BO! BO!
The Miz is lame.

Dark Match:
Victoria vs. Michelle McCool: Opening wih a women's match -- interesting. Victoria's gotten a haircut -- I like shoulder length better on her. I have to give Michelle props; she was hitting all her stuff well, & they were working together great. This is the first time in a long time I remember seeing a women's match that actually looked like a well-balanced effort. This was a very good match, & the crowd got much more into it than they ever do for women's matches.
ECW:
Opening with Flair. Good speech, rudely interrupted by Elijah Burke. That'll getcha heel heat. Burke in turn was interrupted by Shelton Benjamin. Listen to Shelton cut a promo on live TV! He's no Shawn Michaels, but he is so massively improved from where he was before. (Maybe there's hope after all! Go Shelton!!) Big pop for Punk's run-in to help out.
I swear, there were several times where it sounded like Flair is now officially an ECW guy?? I'd assumed this was just a special guest appearance. That'd be a bizarre turn of events.
I found Kofi Kingston's wrestling entertaining. He does just enough different things to distinguish him from the typical flavour of the month. He's certainly snappy & motivated. Maybe he comes across better live than on TV. And he talks well. They just need to give us a reason to care about him (soon!), & I think he'll be fine.
Miz, blah. Morrison, heelishly darling, but only there to second & cheat a bit. Mercifully short squash of Delaney, with the one piece of offence (ever?) thwarted by Morrison. Even Tazz at the table was visibly selling the squash. Thanks for coming out tonight, Tommy.
Stevie is downright giddy to be back. Although the jobber they gave him was pretty damn bad. (C'mon, Stevie at least deserves a good jobber.)
Flair & Punk vs. Benjamin & Burke: This was damn fun. I'm pretty sure the boys were thrilled to get to work with Ric, & turned it up. And Ric seemed to be having fun playing with all the baby-boys! If Stevie was giddy just to be back, Punk was beside himself getting to work with Flair. Good stuff! | Torchslasher

But to have Flair catch Elijah and throw him off the top rope, and then to stop Shelton from doing the same thing to him, that was great. Then it was capped off with Flair of all people hitting a top rope move on both.
Terrific on all levels. The rest of the show...eh.

Another loss in the main event is another loss in the main event. Losing to Flair instead of Punk for the sixth consecutive time isn't much different. He's got the goods to be more than ECW's Val Venis.

That's why I referenced Val Venis, a guy who gets short success on Heat then goes to RAW to put over Snitsky.
I don't want to gainsay you, Justin, and we won't know anything until we see what they do with Burke now. I'll be happy to be wrong about this week leading to another string of losses. I think he's got all the alleged ability of Kennedy, and I wish they'd switch shows.
