I have seen ZERO movies from either list from Ebert _or_ Roeper. I WIN!

As for what I _did_ see this year, I've seen these in decreasing order of preference:

1) Pirates of the Caribbean
I was amazed at how good this turned out to be.
2) Kill Bill: Vol. 1
An entertaining mess, and I'm sure I'll see part two.
3) Confessions of a Dangerous Mind
A twisted mock-documentary that's on my to-buy list. Good stuff.
4) 28 Days Later
Caught this at its sneak preview, and now own the DVD. The last half hour gets a bit odd.
5) Cabin Fever
An amazing job of intentionally making the audience root _against_ the main characters. Gloriously stupid and MST3K'able (in a good way), with some classic moments of sick humor.
6) Bulletproof Monk
This could have been quite a bit better than it was. Recasting everyone in the film other than Chow Yun-Fat and rewriting the script would've helped.

"As far as my lack of professional courtesy and my obvious immature humor in referring to using your head as a pickle jar, well, I reserve my courtesy for those whom I respect. Your lack of personal integrity has given me much grief, and I find that thinking of your hollowed-out head sitting on top of my fridge and providing a safe haven for pickles is a comforting thought."

I liked Bad Boys 2 as well. REAL over-the-top, but it never pretended not to be. Certainly can't complain about the lack of violence either.

I didn't think TCM was an important enough movie to warrant a #1 ranking, but it was crap. Too bad, because the first fifteen minutes made it look promising (they shot their load with the suicide in the van and pullaway trough the head wound... it was all downhill from there).

LXG was the easily the dumbest movie I saw this year... although in all fairness I never saw "The Hulk".

Man, how did these two forget about House of the Dead? I wanted to walk out after five minutes of that shitty movie.

Probably because they didn't see it.

I'm glad no one's put "Freddy VS Jason" on their "Worst Of" list.

I've been pretty fortunate as it pertains to avoiding bad movies, with the worst I saw this year being 2 Fast 2 Furious, which actually wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

You think WWE now is bad? Some of us had to live through 1993-1996!

I thought Sean Penn was great in 21 Grams. Benicio was great 2 but saying he's ten times the actor Penn is out there (in my opinion.)

Life of David Gale did have some bad turns near the end but i thought the acting was solid and far form worst movie of the year.

My personal pick for best film of the year was mystic river and i agree with it being high on ropors list. I saw in amercia this pasdt weekend and thought it was great but preferred mystic(of corse had read the novel first and loved it so ther emgiht be some favortisim there)

also i thought bad santa was terrific and took risks , which most holiday films don't. Perfect roll for Billy Bob.

Watching Julia Child cook on WTTW when I was a young kid spurred me into wanting to actually cook stuff other than Macaroni & Cheese today. I'll always remember the turkey incident when it dropped on the floor and she shrugged it off.
