I just figured I'd share with the board .... I'm sure anyone who's sold items regularly on Ebay has dealt with the occassional headache or two (I get hammered consistently with people trying to barter shipping fees) ... However, this guy has more than taken the cake for me, to the point I created this log. I have thrown in comments throughout as well. (This has been getting laughs from my former Bell co-workers who knew how disgruntled I'd gotten with customer service, and realize this is more or less pent up frustration finally boiling over onto this unlucky sap.)

Okay, at this point Iím away for the weekend on my anniversary with the girlfriend. When I log in to check my e-mail, I was a tad pissy to see this idiot continuing to hammer away with shipping questions. This is the first time I got snappy. (This is the THIRTEENTH question regarding shipping / feedback, although the number is likely closer to 25 because he had a tendency to mail everything twice.)

I shipped the item on the morning of November 7th. I didnít get a tracking number, he only paid $0.99 for the video and $8.00 for shipping, so there was zero profit here. If he doesnít get it, I imagine Iíll hear about it anyway Ö

As I told you earlier.
1) Your item takes 5-15 BUSINESS days (IE: 1-3 weeks)
2) Some DVDs arrive quicker to the States than VHS. The reason for this is DVDs can fit through mail slots and thus are shipped as Small Packet Airmail. VHS are shipped as Surface and take longer because they can not fit through mail slots.
3) I will not leave you positive feedback UNTIL the item has arrived and you have left ME feedback because as stated before, I suspect you intend to leave me negative feedback. You can e-mail me 10,000 times asking for it, but I will not budge on this matter.
I am not trying to screw you in any way. Some items take longer than others. I never deceived you in the length of time, I told you from DAY ONE it would take 5-15 business days. I mailed your item, same as every one else. Don't e-mail me every day to update me that it hasn't arrived, it won't make it come faster.

That is a tape that was PAID FOR on October 30th. It arrived on Friday of this week. Just shy of 3 weeks. VHS takes longer than DVD as I explained in my last e-mail.

I had stopped updating my log of these files around this time, because quite frankly, I thought it was more or less over. However, retard suddenly volunteered within about 24 hours of this to remove the Paypal dispute if I remove his feedback. I took it a step further and demand he admit to Paypal that he lied in order to extort me. He agreed, but I doubt he understood what extort or blackmail was, because all he said was ďI got the videoĒ or something along those lines. Those messages are sadly lost, because I decided to gather the log again on December 29, 2006 Ė by which point anything older than 30 days is gone.

True to form though, our good friend took another week of ďokay do you REALLY promise?Ē to remove his feedback. Literally, the usual 2-3 messages a day before he finally got off his ass and removed it. So we jump ahead to November 29.

I'm responding to this in order to close the alert.
The buyer is unhappy I left him negative feedback. He lied to Paypal earlier about having not received the item, and admitted as much to Paypal later. Since I haven't removed the negative feedback (and never will - it was well deserved), he's done the same here.
I will continue to ignore this Ebayer. This transaction is completed. The tape is fine. The buyer is an idiot. I hope he contracts a bad case of genital herpes, so that he has something else to do with his hands (scratch) than continue to type on his keyboard.

Oh and can I just ask what the hell is up with "Shooting Star ..." names? I did...well tried to do business with a guy calling himself Shooting Star Auctions last year. Screwed over and lied horribly to me and over 100 other people by taking our money, promising and never delivering on Xbox 360's and Ipods. Maybe that's why I think the name sucks, but other than that it just doesn't make sense to me and I'm not sure why Shooting Star is popular as a name.

Any self-respecting business these days will tell you that saying is bullshit. HOWEVER, they will immediately follow it up by suggesting you DON'T do what I did (which is attack the customer), and instead do everything in your power to offer a compromise that satisfies all parties involved.

I worked in customer service for years, and hated it. It was due to the lack of balls you're allowed to have when dealing with stupid and/or abusive people. I have never agreed that customers (ESPECIALLY those who pay roughly nothing for their service, like this guy with his $0.99 video) deserve to be treated any better than they treat you. This guy, admittedly, never got rude with me until later on when I pushed him, but I can't stand stupidity. I know my old bosses would have shot me on location for chasing this guy to the competitors, but how is my time worth vs. the hassle of dealing with this idiot and his 9000 messages?
