As you probably heard, First Lady Laura Bush just got back from a tour of Europe. When she got home, she found this waiting on her bed, and she read with George's permission at the National Book Festival.
And, again I stress, I'm not making this up.
Roses are red Violets are blue Oh my, lump in the bed How I've missed you.
Roses are redder Bluer am I Seeing you kissed by that charming French guy.
The dogs and the cat, they missed you too Barney's still mad you dropped him, he ate your shoe The distance, my dear, has been such a barrier Next time you want an adventure, just land on a carrier.
Doesn't it kinda remind you of the poem Mark Henry wrote for Chyna?

Actually, while most of this is atrocious, I actually kind of liked the line "Oh my, lump in the bed/how I've missed you." He should drop the comma between my and lump though.

I somehow doubt that Clinton wrote poems for Hillary. If he did, however, I'm sure they were more the dirty limerick style.

spf -- I saw another link to the poem on an ABC news site (Click Here (abc.net.au)) that had no comma between "my" and "lump."

I will admit I would treat this a little more harshly coming from someone like Clinton. Not because of politics, rather, the man's general history with fidelity. Had Bush openly cheated on his wide though, it would be another matter.

Why, it's much easier to lambaste liberals for advancing stupid policy. Besides, with the shit coming out of Hollywood these days, we could never stop with the hilarious insults of artwork coming from the left once we got started.

As opposed to what? All that great art coming from the right?
Last I checked, most artists are "liberal."
But of course, this only matters to those who would label everyone as "to the right," "to the left," "conservative," or "liberal."
But I do love that last sentence. Not only is it a completely objective viewpoint, but it generalizes "Hollywood" as being "from the left." Because as we know, all of Hollywood cares that much about politics.

Makes me nostalgic for the days when we had a smart president. A man who essentially turned the entire process of government into some sort of cynical theater. A man with an almost pathological aversion to the truth. The kind of guy who would stop at nothing for political gain; the kind of guy who would offer only token strikes at our enemies because, hey, it's just smart politics. Yes, give me Clinton. He and his administration may have been empty and rather morally bankrupt, but by God they put such a suave face on things! Oh, and our more sophisticated European friends like us so much better then.

1. If there was one job when you want a smart man in charge, I'd think that president would be it.
2. This is every politician

5. Like those hard strikes are Saudi Arabia and North Korea
6. Every government is morally bankrupt
7. I've never understood the American mentality of "If the rest of the world doesn't like us, then fuck'em!" Isn't diplomacy a good thing?
