If you're into RPG's, then Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story was probably one of the year's best. I absolutely loved Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days, which took me a solid two weeks to beat. And I still get playtime out of Professor Layton & The Diabolical Box. And then there's Scribblenauts.
But that still makes only five quality games, which for a 12-month year is pretty bad.

Interesting, I hadn't even thought about using my spare sixaxis (it just uses a micro-USB cord, not included) Honestly most of the time it's just the movement keys and 2 firing buttons (for me) during space fights, and the same during ground missions.
